  1. Gotta be worth the risk I reckon assuming we get him for £1m or less. Yes he could just be another Nile Ranger but if you've got the chance to sign *potentially* the best English player of his generation for such a small fee surely the gamble is worth it?

  2.

It is understood that the FA has no plans to charge either Liverpool or Dalglish.

    Oh, great

They'll more likely change the rules so that having a player found guilty of racism in your squad automatically gets you the 4th Champions League place.

  3. Anyone reckon Sunderland might bid to be our new shirt and stadium sponsor next season? I can see it now the "There's a proper classy premier league team only 30 minutes away from here you know? Arena"

  4. I think it's a fair point, if we were down there in the same position I don't think they'd give half as much of a f***.

The 2 wins in 15 home games would be my main concern if roles were reversed.  That and the dire players that the manager fetched in and the lack of a gameplan.

Dire? They're champions league winners man.  :laugh2:

  5. One of them arguing it was a bigger achievement to win the league back in 1896 or whenever than it is now because you weren't allowed subs and didn't have big squads back then. Aye because those rules only applied to Sunderland at the time.

  6. Got to admit I've been wrong about him. After his early performances I thought we were doomed as long as he was in the line-up. However he's actually impressing me a bit recently, he seems to be actively adapting to the left back role and his defensive duties as well as becoming a bit more composed on the ball. I don't think he's a longterm option and the help from Jonas is pivotal but he's done a much better job than I ever expected.

Fair play to the mackem slayer.

This. He's doing an outstanding job at the minute but he's being helped greatly by Jonas. If Jonas gets injured I think Raylor will struggle a bit more.

  7. I ended up stopping at Wetherby services on my way back from the game Saturday and was absolutely f***ing appauled by the Scumderland fans there.  I saw one guy in a Toon shirt get set upon by a group of them and even punched in the face (we turned up just as it had kicked off so I didn't see/hear what caused it) while one (who was probably in his late 40's) shouted "I'll fookin' keel ya!".

Every Toon fan that went in the services was abused by a group of 5-6 pre-pubescent, knuckle-dragging lads that seemed to congregate by the entrance, which I really appreciated when I was there with just my other half.

Every one of them was a f***ing embarrassment to their club.

To be fair, the mag at service station was probably talking about how we're gonna walk the league as we're the Barcelona of the north and all that.

  8. Just looking at sportsdirect.com for a kids kit for my nephew's birthday and spotted this text...

"The new Newcastle United Home Mini Kit is perfect for kids showing off their skills like fan favourites Hatem Ben Arfa, James Perch and Danny Guthrie with a lightweight and breathable fit for maximum comfort and ventilation on the move."
