Only ever seen bits of him after we were linked the first time. When his agent was down the Quayside.

Would expect more goals from him in that league. Considering they’re not fond of defending.

It looks like Openda the striker they got from Lens has far exceeded expectations and has made the number 9 spot his.

And so it's probably why they are looking to get money for Sesko now as they won't be able to increase his value if he isn't a main feature in the first team.

    For the believers.

Has anyone seen him play since he made the move to Leipzig? How has he been looking?

Him and Ramos being available is pretty significant. Would love another quality striker on the books.

The issue is there are some people who have no middle ground with it, they need to have a 100% strike rate or they are labelled a fraud.

Pizza Rob clearly knows someone within the club and picks up bits from them, I think he went through a period where the attention went to his head so he speculated on some bits which didn’t do him any favours.

I know someone high up within adidas so I get told various bits of their football activities including the dealings with us and Villa, I did put some bits on here about us serving notice on castore to go to adidas but people behave in a weird way about it so I haven’t bothered sharing anything since.

I am looking forward to the 40% discount next season on our gear though.

Genuinely can't believe how wound up some people get about transfer rumours or otherwise when it's from someone that might have heard something. It's ridiculous.

    Yeh Longstaff. Easily.

Yup. Think Miley and Anderson playing the same position and showing promise this season makes Longstaff really expendable, especially as they are both also club home grown prospects.

Chelsea value him at £50m [emoji38] aye, because they add an extra 50% minimum when they’re buying players. I’d say he’s worth £25m currently

My God ... they're not really looking for £50 million are they?!

  6. Miley has more than held his own in central midfield at 17 years old.

He already has good size and athleticism too, and is strong technically.

Really surprised people think his value is too high.

Stop trying to put a spin on what you actually do.

Sorry I pointed it out, but you do it a lot.

No need to get upset sunshine.

You're completely free to believe what you want man.

No need to apologize either, because I'm not making these posts to impress you or anyone else. If something comes about a player I am familiar with I post. If you think that's based on FM and YouTube more power to you.

Genuinely baffled you're even comparing my posts to some sort of scouting report! Maybe I should take that as a compliment

You say I do it a lot, but do I really, or do you just get rattled everytime I comment on a player?

I saw the links to Emerson from Atalanta recently, who I don't really know that well so didn't comment.

Find this whole thing so strange!

Ah, we have another that is rattled by a simple breakdown of a strikers play style [emoji38]

I didn't even say anything ground breaking in my post! Are you lot really that basic?! [emoji38]

But you do this with lots of players you think we should sign? Acting like you've done some sort of intensive scouting [emoji38]

Do you really mean you play a lot of Football Manager and watch plenty of YouTube clips.

    [emoji38]

Seems to me like you're projecting what you do tbh.

If you don't enjoy the sport or are into analysing it to the same extent it's no big deal.

Not necessary to be so insecure about it.

How often have you wat him play [emoji38]

BT Sport and now Discovery cover the Portuguese league and show a bunch of Porto, Sporting and Benfica games.

Don't know why some of you continuously act as if it is so difficult to watch football nowadays.

We were being linked with Nunez a bunch that season he broke out and I was watching them loads mostly because of that. The following season we started being linked with Ramos too.

Most of the football I ultimately watch from other leagues will either be because of a Nigerian player I want to see more of, or to watch players we've been linked with that I I want to see.

    It's not rocket science.

If you play for one of the top clubs in Portugal you're likely going to hit numbers, perhaps why Nunez and Ramos aren't quite as prolific at clubs they have moved to, and would equally find it very difficult to produce such numbers consistently.

Goncalo Ramos best season he hit 19 goals, with another player not known for prolific scoring in Joao Mario hitting 17 himself. Taremi finishing top on 22. Pizzi and Carlos Vinicius both hit 18 each playing for Benfica.

31 year old Haris Seferovic hit 22 goals again for Benfica, I'm talking over the past few seasons here.

Playing for the likes of Sporting or Benfica will almost guarantee you goals, again Taremi for Porto has hit the numbers consistently in his time in Portugal.

Ramos is probably one of those that had a good season, equally Nunes, I don't think either would produce 20+ a season in the Premier league.

Jonas and Bas Dost used to produce unreal numbers in the Portuguese division, I really don't think you can read too much into it with players who have played for those top sides in Portugal, with obvious exception to huge talents like Ronaldo.

    Similar situation with Joao Felix.

For me personally, I'm basing it on watching him play.

Really appreciate his mix of physicality, technique, movement and link up play. He's a great all around forward, and was just 20/21 at the time.

Having seen a fair bit of Nunez at Benfica during the same period, he was more of a supreme athlete that you wanted getting in behind. He thrived with either Ramos dropping in to play off him, or with a technical number 10 behind him. I'm not convinced Liverpool are setup to get the best out of him.

I'm always more interested in what a player does on the pitch rather than numbers, because often times the right team fit or setup influences that more. I remember a number of people going on about Isak's low numbers in Spain when we signed him and I mentioned a lot of it had to do with Sociedad's style. It was clear he would thrive for us in the Premier League due to his attributes and how we play.

Personally think Ramos is made for us, much more conventional striker than Isak so would be a good replacement for Wilson. Isak and Ramos could definitely play together and do so better than Isak and Wilson as Wilson doesn’t have the same pace and movement at this stage

Played a big role in Nunez scoring so many in his last year at Benfica, as Ramos played in tandem with him often.

He then took the lead role after Nunez left and led the line, scoring a bunch of goals himself.

Would be a great pickup. Very well rounded striker that would thrive in a more direct team.

PSG do not suit his strengths at all.

  13. Love Goncalo Ramos. Think he'd do really well in the Premier League and would suit the way we play too.

PSG are such an embarrassment of a club man. Hope Ramos doesn't get stuck there too long and they mess him up.

Would be looking into whether we could get him in on on loan initially.

I’m beginning to wonder if we have a recall option on Joe White's loan at this point, full academy graduate midfield by the end of the season. It worked for Roeder back in 05/06 ? we’d all be over the moon with another 7th placed finish at this point right?

He is coming back and will be assessed to see if he can contribute the rest of the season.

There was an article out about it yesterday.

Will wait to see what the end of the transfer window brings, but so far this window, I’m disappointed in our recruitment team. We’ve been engulfed in an injury crisis for months, surely deals should have been in an advanced stage. We’ve had quite a long lead-in time in identifying what the team needs.

I’m also frustrated at how we don’t seem to be shopping in markets where we could get better-value, if finances are this stretched. Brighton signing Barco for £8m springs to mind. Do our scouts even do anything?

Werner was onside there, if its that tight they should just play on. Or the prem should have just used the automated offside thing...

It's because everyone was claiming it leads to injuries yesterday.

Werner was on just then and they killed the move.
