At this point I'd actually really like to see us sign Phillips on loan just to see how our midfield looks with a more traditional DM sitting in front of the defense.

Allow us to be a bit more aggressive pushing both our full backs forward in attack, no more of the whole Burn becoming a LCB when we're in possession thing.

Also a chance to see how Bruno looks as a #8, operating further up the field. I have doubts about his athleticism for the role but also think there's the potential for him to give us some more ability on the ball in the final third so I'd really like to see it for a bit.

If it all looks good then bring in a true DM in summer, be it Phillips or someone else.

If not, Bruno goes back there to start next season.

We've already seen Bruno play the 8 role, when Shelvey was sitting deeper.

Got to say, I'm not a massive fan from what I've seen. However Leeds supporting mates raved over him being all over the pitch in a good way and when Leeds were good it was because of him and he'd have been perfect for us before going to Man City

I'll err to those that saw him most.

    He's a very good midfielder.

He seemingly just hadn't been able to adapt to Peps style of play.

At Leeds they were a very high energy pressing team that moved the ball forward at a high tempo. Very different from what Pep does.

Like you say though, very well suited to how we play. He'd give us another midfielder with good technique, and an outrageous range of passing.

He's also defensively sound, strong and mobile. In fact I would go as far as to say he'd be our best defensive midfielder as far as discipline, positioning and covering the defence.

The idea of Kalvin Phillips worries me a little, although a good player strong passer etc, he's not very mobile in the slightest, with Longstaff and Bruno you have a slow midfield.

We need a fast midfield, Joelinton and Willock would provide that when both fit with Bruno, plus Phillips is hardly going to have spent the season sat on the bench with City and then come here and sit on our bench, so if he comes in and keeps Willock out of the side, and halts Mileys progress im not up for that

Since when is Kalvin Philips not mobile?!!! It's only been a year and it seems people have completely forgotten the guy's game.

He played in arguably the most dynamic and frenetic team in the league under Biesla. He wouldn't have even been able to feature if he wasn't mobile.

And you say he's not very mobile in the slightest?!!! Are you sure you've watched him at all?

    This is so strange man.

Foden is such a ridiculously good footballer

Has started a lot more games this season. Thought he'd have produced more than he has, be interesting to see what he ends up with by the end of the season.

They are shite imo. They've had a good spell from the points deduction up to last weekend but they started the season shite and they're starting to lose games again. They're the sort of side who'd have done well to get 42 points without a deduction, with it, they need someone like Luton to not reach 33.

They are not shite and without the points deduction, would be nowhere near a relegation battle.

Earlier in the season they were without Calvert Lewin and Harrison.

Agreed. Same with Olise. But Olise plays with less touches which helps him.

Yeah, Olise is not quite as bad, but could also play with more urgency himself too.

Crazy how often they slow things down when there's an opportunity to take a bit more risk with a more incisive forward pass.

    Everton are proper good.

Dyche is brilliant at what he does and this is a better squad than he had at Burnley, interesting to see how far he can take them.

I predicted on here they'd finish top half while some scoffed and posted laughing emojis.

There's a good set of players there and Dyche was getting into Europe with far worse when he was at Burnley.

    Not at all surprised.

I don't think he's good enough for Arsenal tbh, too inconsistent for my liking. A goal involvement every 275 mins isn't that good. Saka is 127 mins for comparison.

Good friend of mine that supports Arsenal doesn't like him at all.

Think against lesser teams there's a place for him, but in this type of game, they could do with someone with a bit more subtlety and nous.
