That interview seemed awkward as fuck seeing Aluko criticising Brentford's performance as their players walked past just feet away.

They could have also shifted to the right a bit so they weren't partially blocking the players. Very strange setting.

Cole Palmer is the one player this summer that I think We were daft not to sign. He’s got so much class and composure on the ball, plays wide or number 10 and he’s the perfect age. Surprised we weren’t in for him

Looks really good for them so far.

Don't think we had the financial flexibility left to go for him in the summer.

Would have been a really great option for the right side.

To be fair, Spurs had 20 points after 10 games last season.

It's just the whole vibe around the place and the stark difference in the football being played.

They were so miserable last year. Just like their manager at the time.

They have a good catchment area, if they weren't in London, they'd be lower to mid table Championship level.

When Conor Gallagher was there with Zaha, they at least were somewhat interesting, they've been getting worse since Viera left.

Yeah it's a really decent area for footballing talent.

The Surrey area also has some really nice places to live, and the transport connections to London are really good.

The club is just badly managed I think.

Selhurst Park is a vortex of the most dull, dire, football culture in the whole of England. How fucking bored do they all look, not even bothered to lay into their shit heap of a team.

They have a pretty good academy and have still managed to get some decent talent into the club.

The likes of Anderson, Guehi, Eze, Olise, Mitchell and Doucoure are decent talents.

They just can't seem to find a manager to take them to another level for some reason.

If Howe had this squad I swear they'd look a lot better and far more dangerous.

Palace a midtable team missing their 2 best players. What do people expect ?

Not to still be playing the likes of Ward, Ayew, Schlupp and Hughes so much, and to maybe move on from Hodgson at this point, as there isn't much to really build on with him going forward, although he has served them really well.

He’d do a job under Eddie I’m sure.

Looks like he should have a free role playing off a striker that can hold it up, and he can then just focus on timing runs into the box to get on the end of things.

He's not good enough on the ball to play wide, or good enough making the ball stick to play upfront.

I wouldn't have him anywhere near Newcastle personally.

Palace are woeful. As we found out last week.

Richarlison goes off and they suddenly have a threat down that side  he was utter shite. His highlight reel was about 2 nice passes.

    Son is some player.

Took a few seconds for Johnson to show him up.

£60 million on Richarlison man. Thought he just needed a run of games, but even that hasn't helped.

    He's been shocking.

  9. Looked fantastic and would have been a great signing. Crazy some of the talent that Man City have let leave.

Wonder if we could have done more business if we brought him in for the midfield for a fraction of what we spent on Tonali in the end.

    Oh well ...

The game is in two week's time. Isak would be the most important player, Murphy would have been another option to provide pace against their press. Things went against us tonight, but we also aren't in the best position to put it right in such a short span of time.

    Hadn't looked at the schedule.

A turnaround in two weeks is a nightmare.

Don't think we'll have enough people back by then.

If we start Wilson, we can't have him up top alone again to start.

Should start with the formation we finished the game playing.

Wouldn't count this bunch out. Still could see them finding a way even with so many missing. Going to be tough though.

    Elliot Anderson is injured???

Looks like Miley will be getting some action. If Wilson gets crocked we are fucked

The striker situation is legit terrifying.

Two strikers that pick up injuries is very shaky.

Has to be a January consideration to pick up another younger striker prospect that is good enough to contribute and develop further still.

They came for the smash and grab and it paid off for them, we weren't out classed or battered, we were out maneuvered. I'm not annoyed by this loss, can't really point the finger anywhere, I'm just frustrated. On a different day we're sat top of the table and we're all slapping each others backs.

This is exactly how I saw the game play out.

Even their counters were more from our careless play, rather than anything particularly impressive they did.

Really like our chances at their place. Hopefully with more players available by then.

I really liked it. Felt like we were giving their defence a lot more to think about whenever we went forward. Great to have as a plan B, hope Howe tries it again

Yeah, I think we ought to do this sometimes when Wilson is upfront and not quite having a good time getting involved in general play.

Allows him to then just focus on getting in behind and the man playing off him can link up play.

I actually think if we make the change at the start of the second half we get the better of them.

It was a nice change by Eddie and one to keep in his arsenal going forward.

Longstaff played 90 minutes on Saturday and Joelinton 80 after just coming back from injury. Possibly something to be learned there because both looked unusually lethargic tonight. Can't really afford to have the two runners in midfield not on it against someone like Dortmund.

    It's a great point.

Hope we can figure out some rotations that benefit us more going forward.

  15. Just now, Holloway said:

Yeah ultimately had a one of those nights feel about it. Their defence were sound in the air but wobbling elsewhere, I thought we were good to come back around the hour but it spluttered a bit

The sad thing was that if Murphy stays on, with the form he is in, I like his chances to make something happen, and we were denied that opportunity too.

Was just a night where things just didn't happen for us. Started with the Isak injury and didn't get better from there.

And yet despite all that we still looked like we might get something right up until the end. Just so unfortunate tonight.

  16. 2 minutes ago, Holloway said:

Don't agree they were another level ,wasn"t that much in it

Very even game that could have gone either way.

Really don't get the fuss being made about the Dortmund performance at all.

If Isak stays on we win this comfortably IMO.

Wilson playing the lone role upfront before we switched formation, ultimately cost us.

We needed more involvement from our striker in general play to better control the game in central areas and limit their counter opportunities.
