  1. You've still not said who's gonna get dropped. Rotated with Keane. So again I ask, who in their right mind buys a player for rotation for upwards of £12m? Berbatov is leaving man! They will realise soon enough.
  2. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!! POSSIBLY THE MOST STUNNING POST EVER!!! Benayoun is better than any midfielder at Tottenham at the moment. FACT!!! Put him in that liverpool team and you wait and see what happens. Have you ever seen him play? This coming from a person who thinks Murphy's one of the most underrated players ever. Give me a break. Benayoun's a classy, elegant player on his day. He's not f****** Ronaldinho though. I've seen him have excellent games and dreadful games, and I have Spammer mates who say he's one of those who just doesn't turn up some days. I stand by what I said, and that's that in the grand scheme of things, on a scale of Premiership midfielders, I'd put him somewhere just above middle. Possibly around a kind of Malbranque level. Is that good enough for Liverpool and their aspirations? I don't think so. You're a pretty weird one. What do Danny Murphy or Ronaldinho have to do with anything. Stick to the topic of conversation. Is Benayoun better than all of Tottenham's midfielders? YES. Simple as that. If Darren Fletcher can make a contributiojn to Man U and SWP can make a contribution to Chelsea then I don't see why Benayoun isn't good enough for a Liverpool team with high aspirations. Danny Murphy because it was probably one of the funniest things I've read this week and shows how questionable some of your views are on certain players, and Ronaldinho because you're bigging Benayoun up to completely ridiculous proportions. Is your opinion a fact? NO. I would certainly take Lennon at 20 years of age with 5 goals and 13 assists over Benayon at 27 years of age with 5 goals and 3 assists. The point is, Liverpool don't even have a strong enough first team to compete with Utd and Chelsea. They need real quality, players who could be considered the best in the league, to bridge that gap. Benayoun is nowhere near that. Right ... let me get this straight, so because I said Benayoun was better than Tottenham's midfielders I am bigging him up to Ronaldinho's level? So what your saying then is that Ronaldinho is the only footballer who is better than your midfielders? What was that about questionable views again ... Errm, no. Look back at your posts and notice the tone of it. It was more the 'WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW' as if it was the most insulting, shocking, outrageous thing you've ever read. And your insistence that he's the one to magically transform the Liverpool team, which is extremely unrealistic. Why not answer the rest of the points raised? What was shocking, outrageous and insulting was you comparing Benayoun to Zenden!!! Are you for real? That definitely deserved a WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!

  4. Have you ever seen him play? i think somewhere in between the pair of your opinions is about right. He's decent, and can turn a match, however it hasn't happened that often in his career at WHU. Is he injury prone, always seems to be struggling everytime i've read match reports? Either way, £1m is insulting, he's a £4-5m player as long as he's under contract. Look at the team he's on though? He has been playing with Harewood and Zamora up front to link up with. I think he is class and has real quality. I hope he ends up at Liverpool as it will really open up some peoples eyes. I would have him over Lennon, Malbranque, Tainio, Ghaly, Jenas etc. None of their midfielders are better than him, so i found his comment a bit rich like! you do chat an awful load of s*** sometimes. Benayoun is a very inconsistant and has had 1 good premiership season at the spammers. No doubt he'll be average at Liverpool. Okay so now tell me what any one of your midfielders have achieved that makes them better than Benayoun? I'm not trying to offend you guys but I really do just rate Benayoun higher than any of your guys, none of whom are consistent either.

  8. Till you realise the following ... Berbatov will join Man U as Bent is his replacement. King might be out for quite a while. Harry Kewell will be your left winger next season.
  9. 2 signings already ... I'm so not used to this. I'm not sure I quite believe it. Very pleased. We are moving along at a very healthy pace and so far we have actually made a profit transfer fee wise!
  10. Classy move by Newcastle. Wasn't worth having this get dragged through hearing after hearing with the freakin' FA. We are getting a really good deal at £5.5 million so why not just make it £5.8 million and let's move on and focus on what is important, which is getting a team together for next season without any negative crap. Good stuff.
  11. Boro's attack could be pretty sexy if they played Tuncay and Aliadiere either side of Yakubu in a front three, but alas ... Southgate is not that smart and there is no way he would sacrifice Downing or be smart enough to play him through the middle. If he did though, I think they would be alright you know but no where near as good as us.
  12. I'm not baffled at the price, it's Egghead paying way over the top to try to avoid a repeat of last season's near miss (courtesy of nil points deduction). Spurs have made their final offer, £12.5m + 1 player nearly out of contract + 1 player on a seasons long loan. It's now up to Bent and Charlton. If Bent says I'm not going to Upton Park (which is what his agent is saying) will Charlton accept the Spurs bid? If not, will Bent take the risk of winding u in the Championship? I think Bent will eventually go to the Bingo Club in exactly the same way (as others have mentioned before) that Owen made his way to Newcastle, not by choice but by sufferance. I bet it's Routledge. Don't think Routledge would agree to go to a championship club on loan.
  13. Emre's probably gone as well ...
  14. I think it was always going to be either Rozenhal or *Haim along with a very experienced CB like Hyypia. I am fully expecting the bid for Rozenhal to be firmed up now that Haim has signed with Chelsea. I think we have been so tentative with the Rozenhal bid because we were waiting for a reply from Haim, which we have now received. *Ben Haim will now be referred to as Haim from now on in protest to his decision to sign for Chelsea rather than Newcastle.
  15. Papa Bouba Diop is soooooooo last season ... His time has come and gone. Lot's of other up and coming DMs in the French league who we could probably get for the same money we woul spend on Papa Diop.
  16. They paid £7m or so a couple of seasons ago though, this deal was a way around a work permit IIRC. (i could possibly be wrong) I was just kidding about the £2 bid, but I do think it might be worthwhile making a bid for Alex though, should Ben Haim sign with Chelsea. I reckon a £4 million bid should just about do the trick. Have only seen him occassionally but from what I remember he did look a decent centre back. I know you were kidding about the £2 but at £4m they are making a loss on a player they've never even played. They overpay for everyone so they should always expect to make a loss. Besides the manager doesn't appear to want him, whcih is why he apparently refused to bring him in during January and instead prefered to play Essien in the back four!

  18. Well it's about time! Good stuff. Looks like the FA have sorted things out regarding the loyalty payment.
  19. Alex is good, but apparently Mourinho doesn't want him at the club, he was someone Arnesen insisted on bringing in. I'll tell you what would make sense ... a quick bid for Alex as soon as Ben Haim joins Chelsea. Chelsea signed Alex for £1 right? So a double your money offer of £2 should seal the deal imho. Now that would be one hell of a bargain!
  20. Might be meeting Sam in London. Didn't Sam meet Viduka in London to sign him?
  21. Very interesting idea. Would be dirt cheap as he fell out of the Barcelona rotation due to injuries and is unsettled, but when fit he is very similar to Campo. Big, physical DM with good ability on the ball and good use of the ball. Would be a typical Sam signing.
  22. Don't worry you will be able to console yourself with Harry Kewell and Marlon Harewood. NAILED ON!!!
  23. £60,000 is a lot but when you take into account the fact that we would be getting him on a free then maybe it's not too bad.
  24. Glen Johnson really does seem to get a bad rap, but he does have potential. He is very good going forward but not the best defender. We probably need someone a bit more solid defensively considering the overall state of our defence.
  25. I really like Flamini too. He is more of an energizer bunny type of defensive mid that harries the opposition all game. I see him as a bit of a Hargreaves clone, also just as versatile. I would love Flamini and he would be very affordable too. However, Allardyce does tend to prefer having his defensive midfielders big and strong so I'm not sure if he would consider someone like Flamini.
