Such quotes make me laugh. How do they know we haven't been negotiating with Toulouse since December? I think what we have to realise is that when it comes to getting the best possible deal, which is what our current ownership is all about, it is always going to go down to the wire. I'm pretty sure we will get players in as it is very clear now that we are indeed looking to do so. I remember this same kind of thing happening with Beye, Rozenhal and even Coloccini. Seemed to take forever.

mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif Being fair KD, he was good tonight I thought, I don't rate the two mentioned either really. I think it's time to put a bid in for Kranjcar. Have you seen Lennon this season? he's been immense. When Kaka says that Pennant is a better "footballer" then him, i somewhat see his point (altough i completely disagree with it), but his point becomes void when he also states that he's also a better "footballer" then Milner. By using the term footballer, i assumed he was basing his judgement on technique alone but then Milner is twice the player Pennant is, when it comes to that. I am now 100% convinced you don't even watch football games. Milner better technique than Jermaine Pennant. God have mercy on you for such profanity! That is a shcocking statement. Milner has been superb the last 3 or 4 games for us. Read into that what you will. Lennon has been superb for us this whole season but Kaka says we need to "watch what they do on the field" instead of playing Fifa. Going by the FACT that Pennant has done diddly squat for a long time now, im pretty sure Kaka is playing Fifa right now. KD let me be very honest with you. You seem to take things too personally and feel this need to be super loyal to anything Tottenham which is cool up to a certain point. I'm not saying Lennon is useless and neither am I saying he hasn't been good for you. Pennant has had his issues but when he is actually on that pitch playing he is better than both Lennon and Milner in my opinion and has far more to his game than both. I support Newcastle United right, but I wouldn't argue that Nicky Butt was half decent because he's s***. So is Alan Smith, so is Duff ,etc etc. Facts are facts. Except Jermaine Pennant is s***. He's going to be playing week in week out now so we'll see about that come the end of the season.

Couldn't break into the Arsenal and Liverpool teams. His mistake was not moving to a club where he could play more regularly. Did you see his performances whle he was at Birmingham? Earned him a move to Liverpool. Have you seen who has shown interest in him this window. You guys talk about achievements etc. I am making judgements on what I see these players produce on the pitch. Pennant is of far greater quality than Lennon and Milner.

mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif mackems.gif Do you actually judge players by what they do on the pitch or what their ratings are on the latest FIFA games. Pennant is far better than those two believe me. Hey but you rate Jermaine Jenas but not Palacios so it's not surprising really. Sorry where did i say i didn't rate Palacios? or did i actually say that we should be looking for natural dm's and box to box midfielders isn't what we actually need right now? shows how much credibility you have when you decide to lie about things to prove your point imo. Ermmmmmmmm Sorry, what the f*** has Pennant done on the pitch to considered better then the other 2 by your wise self please? Pennant's touch, ability to go past players as well as his delivery of a final ball are 1 million times better than Milner in every way shape and form. He is also a lot smarter in his decision making and movement. He is very good. His stupidity off the pitch has pretty much done him in though as the first thought about pennant usually has nothing to with football. Football first is still on. go and watch Pennant again and compare what he does to what Milner does over the whole game. No contest. You really must be kidding me. Lennon is just amazingly fast, which is a great asset, but he favours his right foot so much it's untrue and his delivery is shocking. He's blazing fast and has good close control and that will cover up a lot of sins particularly against lesser opponents. I believe you said Palacios was nothing special and was a box to box guy that didn't score enough goals. If I'm wrong about that I take it back, but I'm pretty sure you weren't that impressed by the signing.

Got to feel bad for Portsmouth. They have been so much better than Villa. Pennant doesn't get enough credit as a footballer. So much better than the likes of Lennon and Milner.

Did anyone just see that corner by Milner?! That was crazy.

What I found interesting was the lack of a response from Celtic considering we were linked with their captain. Had me thinking there might be something in it. Hughton dismissed talk that Celtic star Stephen McManus was on his way to Tyneside and insisted Joey Barton would remain at United. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/01/27/nufc-still-hopeful-of-signing-albin-ebondo-72703-22790938/ Gotcha. -

This. The thing is I like Tevez, but Saviola is a better goal scorer and much more polished overall. Tevez is quality but sometimes has a tendency to slip into a bit of a captain caveman mode. Too much cowabunga and not enough guapa. -

I'll let you all in on a very dirty secret. Matter of fact it's so filthy it might offend some of you but it's the truth. Saviola pisses all over Tevez. FACTOMUNDO! -

If Saviola doesn't sign for us and signs for someone else in the prem we will be crying about it for years to come ... Brilliant player. Hope we get him. -

think he'll be similar to baros You are joking right? Saviola is a class finisher. I believe he would score goals anywhere. Baros finishing on the other hand is terrible. -

Congratulations you've outdone Stalker! What a crazily negative way of looking at things. So the guy is coming from a smaller league and team and will be on loan at a big team in the top league in the world and could potentially double his salary should he earn a permanent move and you think that he won't give a shit. Brilliant! -

I just get the feeling that Saviola would take the premiership by storm and everyone who has passed up on him of late will regret it big time. Hope we are in for him. -

I understand the point of view but it reminds me of the Distin situation, hopefully he's not as much of a mercenary Everything scares some of you guys. It's a loan with a view to a permanent deal where agreements will be put in place should the option be picked up on. Stop being such a scaredy cat. -

I think one definite good thing about having Kinnear in charge is that he will be far more open to taking advantage of the scouting system we have in place. Some might say he's a yes man because of it, but I would much rather we use the people in place to recruit players rather than rely on Joe solely. -

So we've agreed a fee and now need to convince the player to come here? Good luck with that one The lack of faith a good number of people on here have is startling! We've just today seen a very talented young portuguese midfielder go to bloody Portsmouth under Tony Adams. Why are you so sure Donadel would be against joingin a team with well known internationals such as Coloccini, Jonas, Owen, Martins, Beye etc. Come on now stop expecting the worse all the time. It's a bit pathetic. -

I'm judging from what I saw of him last season as he played a good number of games under Sven and he also featured in all of Switzerland's games in Euro 2008. I'm not saying he's a world beater but he certainly isn't gash. Bear in mind Man Cuty have the likes of Elano, Kompany, SWP, Ireland etc in their midfield though and so it's easy for them to berate Gelson. However, when seeing the fumblings of Butt every week I think allow you to appreciate a player like Gelson a lot more than they would. They've been spoilt recently while we have been starved. -

I like Gelson. Gets all over the pitch like you couldn't imagine breaking stuff up. In posession he distributes the ball well with short simple passes, nothing too overcomplicated. Very good player who is easy to overlook because he doesn't do anything too flash. That's like how Arsenal fans rate Taylor. Man City think Gelson is gash. Not from what I've seen of him anyway. f*** all then. You go you tough guy you!!!
