  1. Quote: Roeder, still hopeful of adding another striker to his squad before next week's transfer deadline, is weighing up a loan move for an unnamed French forward. The United boss is also keen to sign a defender and this weekend will attempt a breakthrough. Who would you like to see coming in that is either French or from the French league? Let's keep this realistic please...... ^-^

    Marouane Chamakh

He's only 22 to be fair (like Martins). So his inconsistencty could be down to his youth and his lack of opportunities in the first team (like Martins too!) Would be good to loan if possible I think. Anyone have Roeder's number? God knows the man needs some help! >
  3. Has anyone seen him play? A friend of mine in France thinks he is a good young striker who Glenn should be considering and we could possibly get him on loan as Bordeaux have just signed Cavenaghi. Does anyone have any views on Chamakh or seen much of him? http://www.channel4.com/sport/french_football/focus/chamakh.html
  4. Most unbelievable thing ever!!!!!!!!! Les Reed was a joke. Can't imagine he will ever get another job. He was so confident too! Serves him right if it is indeed true he had a lot to do with Dowie getting sacked. What goes around comes around.....

More likely to be a Rossi replacement as Rossi will be heading back to Man U. Makes sense as we don't need a big name to back up Martins.
  6. You my friend are a bloody retard!!! I knew this was the reason you kept having a go at people for complaining about Mark hughes. You are a loser. Why would you want Hughes when Roeder is clearly doing a better job than he is you numpty!!! Oh aye that must be it, I have a secret lust for Mark Hughes. Obviously you sick pervert! Give me one other reason then??? You are so clueless it's embarrassing...

Off the bench yes, as he could have maybe helped us snatch something late in a game.

I hear you but I was dissapointed all the same with the way he handled things, but like I said that's just how I feel. I genuinely believed he also held back even though he was ftit enough to feature for us at the end of the season, which believe it or not I would have been fine with, had we not been battling to qualify for Europe! and don't forget we did have a chance to finish 6th too. I repeat this is simply how I feel and I am venting MY frustrations.

7 goals in 10 games says it all really Not bad.....but 15 goals in about 20 games! Now that would have really turned me on! You have to give him the benefit of the doubt though, he didn't mean break his foot it was a freak accident I realise this, but he could have acknowledged the Newcastle fans, instead of going on about how he would be fit in time for the world cup all the time. We were even more disappointed that he would be missing for Newcastle as our season was in absolute disarray at the time. To hear him going on about England at that point in time left a very bitter taste in my mouth. when asked by a national tabloid journalist about his chances for the world cup, whatshould his answer have been ?...had alan oliver asked him when he'd be back for us he may have answered I'm sorry but I saw the interview and he was asked about how his leg was and not about his chances for England! He was the one that started ranting on about England and never felt the need to acknowledge the Newcastle fans who were staring at the prospect of a strike force of Shola, Chopra and some impostor who looked a hell of a lot like Alan Shearer for the rest of the season.

Fair enough Parky and that's how you feel about it, which is very different from how I feel, but I can accept that. I don't know why people are coming at me on a personal level because I have not been convinced by Owen since he joined the club. Anyway's I ain't losing any sleep over it that's for sure. As far as I am concerned no one can attack me for my views on Owen because I have seen most on here judge Luque the same way for absolutely no reason. Even when we all know he hasn't really had a fair crack of the whip at full fitness. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone tbh.

to be fair Michael Owen has scored more than Luque for Newcastle Shola has scored more than Owen so what's your point? Shola's played more than Owen so what's your point? Owen has started more games than Luque and has played more minutes so what's your point? Luque's played more actually I think. Anyway it's not Luque or Ameobi we're talking about, It's Owen. He's better than Luque. Many people slate Luque because he's shown next to nothing and alot has been revealed about his tantrums in training and warm ups before games and his negative attitude, all reports on Owen have been on his great attitude and behaviour Yeah well this is Luques first time playing in another country, where he hardly speaks the language and where he suffered a terrible injury early on. He had to sit in the stands and watch the fans get on the managers case every game (the manager who signed him I might add!) and he must have been wondering what the hell he had let himself in for! Not exactly ideal conditions for him to apply himself a 100%!!! and be happy all the time!!!

Oh I see so because I am not ecstatic with everyone and everything at the club, Iam a part-time supporter? Interesting theory.....

For all of you people who are critisizing me over my feelings about Owen, half of you lot are all hypocrites! Because you have all written of Luque for absolutely nothing and decided he was crap once he didn't score a hat trick in his first game after his return from injury. So please don't come on here preaching to me about what a bad supporter I am okay!

Look you guys are entitled to your opinion and you've all come on here and expressed your sadness for Owen. Well I don't share your feelings and so I expressed mine. I am not sold on his committment to the club at all and he was clearly playing it safe to make sure he was fit for England as that was his first priority. The main reason he left Madrid was to supposedly get enough games leading up to the World Cup. He has been obsessing over this for over a year now, which is fair enough but he also had a responsibility to his club and for me he didn't fulfil it period. Maybe you feel he did, but I don't. Simple as that really. Let's wait and see how things develop from here on out.

I've got my armour on so you lot can't harm me! I'm just saying what I feel love me or hate me baby. By the way he can want to play for his country all he wants, just don't take the mickey with the club because of it.
  22. KaKa

    Michael Owen

I know many will not want to hear this, but having donned my suit of armour I will now say it anyway...... Michael Owen I'm afraid what goes around comes around. You were clearly saving yourself for England at the tail end of the season when we could have used your help to get into Europe, but you pretty much had your agenda and unfortunately the club accomodated you on this. You then show up for training with England supposedly at the fittest Sven has ever seen you before! and you are banging in the goals in training left, right and centre. At this point you are probably thinking to yourself you have got it made and your plan has come together perfectly for you (you are even seen on sky sports proclaiming to have been feeling fit for a good while!) So lo and behold the tournament starts, but you hit a rough patch and you are in the worst form ever. Your touch, compsure and finishing have evaded you and Crouch (yes the unbelievably ineffective Peter Crouch) is getting more credit than you. At this point you probably begin to wonder if it was such a good idea delaying your comeback for Newcastle, which would have most likely gotten you some match fitness prior to the tournament, but now it is too late! You get subbed in the first two games and everyone, you included, say it is all down to the tactics and you refuse to take any responsibility for your below par play. The return of Rooney is supposed to be your saving grace as he will finally allow you to play in the way that you are ideally suited to. So the game for Sweden finally arrives and you are probably thinking to yoruself that you will finally show everyone that you still have it, as you know with Rooney in the side, even if you are half fit you will inevitably have more chances to score. The game finally starts and two minutes in with absolutely no one around you, you pass the ball off and land so awkwardly that you cannot continue the game and there are doubts about how soon you can return tot he team. Yes Michael I hate to say it.....but Karma is a biatch!!!
