Guess Howe just really doesn't fancy Almiron
He tends to want to play him on the right, but Almiron has never convinced in that position IMO.
Has to play on the left if he's being used out wide. Eddie prefers having ASM or Fraser cutting in from that left side though.
I'm pretty certain we will buy a left footer that cuts in from the right in January as we don't have anyone that can play that way.

Anyone think putting joe up top would be a mistake?
Yeah, especially as the lone striker. He just doesn't play as well with his back to goal, it seems completely foreign to him.
Would also drop the effectiveness of our midfield several levels as he is doing a silly amount of work in there in so many different ways.

He's been a bit anonymous. Not happy with the injury but it might work i our favour. Murphy will press more tan ASM and ASM will be more effective on the counter.
Yeah, prefer ASM being higher up the pitch this half. Has been dribbling too much deeper in our half when he's been out wide, and not releasing the ball quickly enough.

We already needed one before his injury.
Yeah, thinking we will need 2 now. One good enough to go straight into the first team, and another that can be rotated in, who can perhaps also play other attacking positions. Lyon's Dembele and Blackburn's Brereton Diaz for example.
-
ASM upfront hopefully. Would be best for us from a defensive standpoint.

Ah man, Callum is done. This sucks big time.
-
Joelinton is ridiculous!

Wilson looks like he's fine.

Big Joe working his fucking bollocks off
Has been setting such a great example for the team since Howe came in. His work rate has been phenomenal.

Ronaldo's attitude intimidates the heck out of the rest of this Man U team. He's killed their spirit
-
ASM is pissing me off ... release the ball man, they are sending two people at you every time to close you down. You can't dribble everyone all the time, especially deep in our half.
-
Brilliant from Shelvey!
-
Oh God ... need Joelinton's energy in there man. Please don't be injured.

Don't pass it around the box ffs
ASM with the silly dribbling in a dangerous area just before too, should have looked to release Joelinton.

Joelinton man lovely ball to release ASM just then. Wish he had scored from that shot.

Great stuff from Longstaff. Could do with him improving massively now too!

Let's go boys!!!!

He fucked up his knee and he lost a lot of his athleticism. He's a shadow of his former self.
Ah, right. That's a shame. Cheers

Yeah, really liked the look of Berge when they were in the prem. That would be a really good signing.

Article in Mundo Deportivo today regarding the Dembelé situation. According to them:
- Besides our extension, he has offers from Liverpool, NUFC, and ManU
- NUFC is putting the most money on the table
- However, Dembelé doesn't want to sign for you unless you secure premiership status, so he might wait this out until summer.
They are not the most reliable newspaper, but they aren't 100% BS either, so make of that what you will.
Seen a rumour we are interested in Umtiti as well. Any news on that at your end? And what is the deal with him at the minute, is he fit and ready to play or injured? Think he could potentially be a good signing due to his experience, and his athleticism would be a good fit for the prem.
Good move?

Seen a great deal of improvement from him in nearly all aspects of his game bar the finishing side, whether it be making a crucial pass or putting one away.hope he steps up to it, his attitude looks bang on
No one ever remembers his key passes because they never get put away.
Threaded a peach through to Callum against Man City and he dilly-dallied when he should have shot first time and got the ball taken off him.
Think his passing is his strongest final third skill at the minute. Still needs to improve in those areas though for sure. Think we'll see him start to do so as we come up against lesser teams now after Man Utd.

Jason Denayer from Lyon linked.
Prem experience (at Sunderland back in the day
). Contract up in the summer. Belgium international. Classy, ball playing defender.
Seems a no brainer. Really good age too at 26, young but experienced. Has to be a strong possibility.

Possibly not, but sometimes you have to do what rafa did and play ugly.
We were trying to do that at the start of the season and were losing games anyway. We're just going to have to see how this all plays out now.
I think it's been more important trying to change the way the team play and go out on the pitch and put it into practice against even the better sides, so that we are better prepared to take on and beat more of the lesser teams when we face them.
It's also really brought to light how much of a revamp is needed with the back line especially and so that will be much better addressed in January too.
Time will tell if the current approach ultimately pays off or not. My gut feeling is that it will in the end.
