  1. Shola is and out and out striker.

Almiron has been played as a forward in just two games this season, where the management team didn't even instruct him to stay high up the pitch. He is an attacking midfielder.

Please chill ozzrahog, that's not a good comparison at all.

Shola was also lethargic and rather dimwitted. Stop it.

    Eh?

Nah, you're alright. That would be UncleBingo

I got slaughtered for saying this about Mitrovic after one game, but I'm mighty sceptical that Joeshinton will ever be a £40M footballer.

    Joeshinton already?

    You people are actually pathetic.

Samt hing you did last season in Rondon's early games, and Ki as well.

    When will you learn?

You're talking out of your arse son, I never said a word about Rondon or Ki, in fact I always said Rondon would be a good signing.

    Get your facts right.

It's the same shortsighted and unintelligent mindset.

He played very well today, not sure one performance makes him a £40M player though.

Not sure why you requoted the bit about Rondon & Ki mind, considering you were talking out of your arse.

Alright, alright. Was just being cheeky. No malice intended.

I accept you didn't slate Rondon and Ki, that was more of a general comment.

I have removed that bit just for you, in my original comment. You quoted it though, so alas I cannot help you there  :D

    Fair enough fella.

Was very impressed and surprised with how he played today, more than happy to be proved wrong here.

Hopefully he can keep it up for his own good really.

None of these guys deserve to have their careers ruined because of the awful owner and manager.

  3. Happy for him. Was important particularly after Wesley & Haller got off the mark this weekend as they’re the two he’ll be compared two I reckon this season.

It's going to be fascinating observing the three of them.

I think we've got the most athletic of the three, and also the best when moving with the ball at his feet.

Saw instances both Moraes and Haller were played in on goal, and they seemed slower and not as fluid, and also not as sure when running with the ball.

Haller I think has the best awareness of where to be to get goals. Moraes might be the most natural old school aggressive and proper target man of the three, and therefore a bit clumsy.

  5. Though Krafth grew into the game today after a shaky start.

He's got decent size for that full back/wing back position and is more competitive defensively than Yedlin and Manquillo I think.

Haven't really had a chance to see what he can contribute going forward as of yet, as we had to defend a ton today.

  6. This boy is a such a strange and enjoyable player to watch. He looks like a small child and runs like he is about to fall down with his limbs flailing all over, but somehow manages to be the fastest player on the pitch and have better stamina than anyone. In the 85th or so minute of the match, he was sprinting the entire length of the pitch to push the attack forward and protect Krafth. Brilliant effort. We have been saying this for some time, but it he starts to add the quality I believe he has to his sheer force of will, the player will be special.

There was one moment where he ran the full length on a counter attack towards the end and we lost the ball, and the next thing he's back by the corner flag helping double up with Krafth. It was insane.

He did that a few times.

Absolutely, but seeing it done when the clock was near 90 mins was mad.

  7. Should have just started Atsu. Worried about St Max

It was such an awful decision by Bruce.

However, at least he gets a chance to fully recover now. Looked in good spirits after the game too, which was nice to see.

Have to say throwing him into a front three with Joelinton and Almiron, and I think it will be pretty exciting.

Just a shame Bruce is going to be at the helm and being so irritating.

  8. I don't believe in this suggestion that he's just reverted to Rafa's tactics. The set-up wasn't a million miles away, granted, but Rafa never did the San Marino 10-0-1 formation thing that we did today, aside from perhaps that one time where we lost 0-1 at home to Man City.

Yeah man ... I am not convinced we won't be setup this same very defensive way against lesser teams.

It's somewhat understandable away to Spurs, albeit not a very strong Spurs team, after a couple of poor performances and results, but if we're doing this against lesser teams it would be too negative.

  11. If centre-forward is not his position then he’s fucked, because that’s clearly how the club sees him.

Where do people think he should be playing? Andy Brassel said he thinks he could be the Brazilian number 9 in a couple of years FWIW.

He was described as quite similar to Firminho in style in the article I read about him, but that was written by an overseas journalist so not sure if Bruce would get it. For Steve he's mainly seeing that he's a big lad so up top he goes with long balls launched in the air in his general direction.

Only caught the last 15 mins, but I don't think he won a ball, in the air, in that time.

Tends to try to hold the defender off and try to control the ball rather than just jump to head it aimlessly.

Actually like that he does that. Gets a hold of it a lot of the time and brings others in to play.
