  1. Rafas got some highly questionable transfers on his resume and given the state of some of the goalscorers that have come to England from the eredivisie previously (excluding the minority that showed star talent as a teenager) I'd say the scepticism towards this transfer is more than justified.

This is such a bloody weird statement man

Can you tell me which manager doesn't if you don't mind? I'll wait. Thanks.

  2. I like the look of Jorgensen from the clips I've watched. Tall but doesn't look lumbering at all. Looks pretty mobile and athletic to me. Finishes with conviction and confidence too. Would be a big upgrade for us I think.

I could see him coming in and having the kind of impact Grazziano Pelle had for Southampton a few seasons ago. Don't remember too many thinking Pelle would amount to what he did either.

It's so hard to make any judgement really. I'd just be happy knowing that Rafa got someone he scouted and rates.

    Come on the toon!

  3. Werw, when did Shelvey become a 20 million player, I must have missed that run of games. We overpaid for him, massively.

Nah, you just missed the market changing. The market where, for example, other English players such as Andre Gray (£18.5m), Oxlade Chamberlain (£35m), Danny Drinkwater (£34m), Jordan Pickford (£25m), Michael Keane (£35m), Kyle Walker (£50m), John Stones (£50m) aren't worth what they're bought for either. Shelvey didn't become a £20m player, a £20m player became Shelvey. Either way he's certainly not a £12m player. £12m for even a relatively established English player now gets you someone like Sam Clucas, Will Hughes, or if you're lucky Jack Cork.

All overpriced, but each a better player in what they do and their role for their respective club’s than Shelvey. 12m though is a p*ss take given we probably paid that for him, no?

You clearly haven't watched much of Andre Gray then

I know who I’d rather have for 20m or under...

You may, it doesn't make it right though.

I think Gray gives Leicester far more to their cause, especially going forward, than Shelvey does to ours, zero goals, zero assists or 1 assist whatever it is. Red card waiting to happen. Shagged after 60 minutes. Etc. Etc.

I can say with complete confidence that that Gray has done absolutely nothing for Leicester.

    Aye, Disco's got a point like. #votekaka

    He plays for Watford, dummy.

    Fixed your posts, daft s****.

Hey dummy. I responded to HTT's post, as he clearly had the wrong Gray, so it made perfect sense.

Sorry you got whooshed. Try to be smarter next time. Ha ha ha!

I just assumed you'd played along and were also talking about Demarai. My mistake, I wrongly assumed that were being as clueless about football as you normally are. ;)

No worries man. No offence taken!

Just wanted to make sure my brilliant gag got more credit.

    I'm so underrated man  :(

  7. I think Wenger has just seized on the opportunity to get two outstanding players he has always liked who were in bad situations that has deemed them not as attractive as previously.

Ordinarily Arsenal wouldn't have had a chance to get them as other clubs would have been throwing silly money around to secure them.

Think it's great business. Figure out how it all comes together after.

  8. Lacazette is nothing like Aubameyang.

Lacazette drops off looking to get the ball into feet more often than not and doesn'the look to exploit space in behind like Aubameyang does.

Think it''s a great signing for Arsenal. Having him being supplied by the likes of Ozil and Mkhitaryan will be filthy.

  9. Would Rafa have known Mariano Diaz from his time at Real? Doing really well at Lyon this season.

Yes but I'd be amazed if OL didn't want to let his value appreciate some more. They rarely sell cheap. Missed the boat in the summer on that one.

Yeah, seems Lyon got a great deal on him last summer.

Ironically, I just found an article that linked Diaz with us as a throw in when real wanted Sissoko. Ouch.

  10. Think this kid is going to be a good addition. Seems a really tricky and exciting player and we miss that in our team. Will get some excitement going.

Rafa really seems to want him and has continued to pursue him from last summer and knows him well from Chelsea and so that is also a really good sign.

  11. I've been told it's some Angers striker Brighton were looking at early this season.

Seems random enough to be possibly true.

Apparently they only want £12m for him, a bit off from the £20m forward we were after.

Mayve he's a bit further down the list? Possibly value has increased with performance?

They rejected a £12.5 million bid from Brighton this January. So possible that they are asking for more.

Seems more of a winger/striker type though, from what I saw on his highlights.

  12. “If we have the players to attack, we attack,” said Benitez. “But you have to defend against the best team in the country, you have to defend.

“We’re not Liverpool, we’re not Arsenal. We don’t have five players who will win a game on their own. Managers have to manage in the way they have to manage.

“My first game with Extremadura was against Barcelona – we lost 1-0, but we played 4-4-2, we pressed high, the difference between that and now is massive. The gap between the best teams and the rest is bigger. There is a massive difference between the rest and the top six.”

Why are they continuing to question this man for goodness sake?! Such an insult to his intelligence.

Wish he would just laugh at them when they start asking him this bollox.

  13. Likes his Louis Vuitton clearly.

I still can't believe guys buy designer luggage

To each his own, but by God that money could be used towards so many other far more useful/interesting things.
