I can actually see that for the first time Messi might actually leave Barca. More likely though he demands better manager and better signings - Barca have been absolutely clueless for many years already

Why can’t PIF just come out and publicly say the deal is dead and they are moving on, or they are taking these steps to try and revive it...

They have already done that in July.

“Ultimately, during the unforeseeably prolonged process, the commercial agreement between the Investment Group and the club’s owners expired and our investment thesis could not be sustained, particularly with no clarity as to the circumstances under which the next season will start and the new norms that will arise for matches, training and other activities.

“As often occurs with proposed investments in uncertain periods, time itself became an enemy of the transaction, particularly during this difficult phase marked by the many real challenges facing us all from Covid-19

“We feel great compassion for the Newcastle United fans with whom we shared a great commitment to help Newcastle United harness its tremendous potential and build upon its impressive and historic legacy while working closely with the local community.

“We would like to say that we truly appreciated your incredible expressions of support and your patience throughout this process. We are sorry it is not to be. We wish the team and everyone associated with it much good luck and success.”

Need a response from PIF for closure on this.

They have already responded when they withdrew their bid to buy the club. They don't have to comment anything, because only thing PIF has said is that it's over. For some reason so many still believed that it's not, mainly based on dodgy tweets.

Well, it's finally over now. Don't really understand why Staveley started this campaign if PIF had already withdrawn. PL don't need to make decision on matter which they don't have on their table

All this noise and PL keeps quiet. Well, I guess we only need them to accept the takeover, but longer they say nothing it’s harder to get PIF back (and that is what they are aiming for again).

I’m sure Staveley and Ashley are doing all they can to lure PIF back - and that is why they haven’t withdrawn it from PL. PL has to make decision and legal actions will follow that.

It’s reassuring that AS and MA are doing everything to get this done and it’s brilliant that fans are voicing their opinion about this. Hopefully Saudis see our support and give us one more chance. But I dont believe that they will.

PL has way too much power and even the goverment should intervene at this. PL stops massive investment to Newcastle and it is very big thing after Brexit. Utted madness.

Staveley and Reubens can still put this back in play, if they can convince PIF to come in with smaller percentage (in the beginning). If Steveley and Reubens own more than 50% together, then PL can't see PIF as the main owner / director? O&D tests have been almost done, business plan is in play and Staveley is very determined to see this through. I see this unlikely, but considering all the work, if Staveley wants the takeover, this is the best shot in years. If they withdraw from O&D then they have to do it fully again next time.

I see very unlikely that PIF / SA will play along anymore, but other option is obviously that Staveley and Reubens could still go and buy the club together if the can negotiate massive sponsorship deal with Saudis and later entrance for PIF. Would have been easier to do so earlier as it would be accepted without any doubt by PL.

All speculation and I believe this 99% sure over for now, but Staveley will come back with new arrangements later, I'm sure of that.

Funny thing is that this Mauriss or whatever is Qatar troll and in the end Ashley wont get his money at all. He’s not interested anymore so expect quick relegation.

Pressure from the govt is keeping this takeover alive, but it just seems absolutely incrediable that they can’t have a meeting and sort all this at once.

Seems like this will go on until someone finally gives up. It’s really looking like court battle and leaves club in complete mess.

We waited for WTO report and expected decision shortly after. It's the same situation now, just this time it's PL ending. There is no indication however that the decision is coming this week, so it still might take months and months for this to happen. I am desperate for this to go through, but it has been so quiet lately and all to indications have been pointing towards Ashley era continuing.
