  1. Motivation as well. Don't forget that! That's going well.

Yep It's all about getting rid of Ashley, for me. I'll take whatever it takes. If they really are being turned into some billionaire's plaything, trying to stay ahead of them with Ashley at the helm would be pointless anyway.
  3. That would surprise me actually, because from what I remember of Bruce as a player he was a ball-playing, get-forward, goal-scoring defender himself. He could play a bit and weighed in with a lot of goals - 13 in the league one year from 31 games. Still a useless manager, obvs.
  4. "The Chopra thing was blown out of all proportion" So he's admitting it's true then, on some level.
  5. What? They've been like this for years. The writers (I can't call them "journalists") are all stealing a living.
  6. Fans not backing him, that's got to be getting wheeled out soon.
  7. Well, we know the answer. Our top target turned us down. As did the next 9 on our list. He was next. He's a patsy, a yes man, and the only chump desperate enough to take the job and work under the awful conditions we seem determined to impose. Hopefully it all ends exactly as well as the club deserve it to end.
  8. I guess now we're back to the Pardew days of the manager spending most of his pre match press conferences telling us how, irrespective of the opposition, we should expect a thorough dicking and that scraping a draw will be a wonderful result. Managing expectations down to their own level of incompetence.
  9. Do the basics right. FFS. One thing you could absolutely guarantee a Rafa team doing is to do the basics right. If they're not anymore, it's on Bruce, 100%
  10. Nobody can buy us as long as MA continues to want £1 more than anyone is willing to pay. It's an impossible purchase.
  11. Tbf, that's the same record as this season.
  12. It's not my £4m, and I can happily say I contributed nothing towards it in any way. So brilliant. Just a shame it wasn't more.
  13. Fucking hell. 2 games in and already publicly saying that we're just trying to stay up. What a time to be alive.
  14. Wanting anything to do with Mike Ashley to succeed, and in the case of this club prolong his ownership, is far more embarrassing. Let it all fucking burn so we can rise back up.
  15. I'd rather have emotion than apathy, and Newcastle are the only club I feel real emotion for. If my emotions can't be positive (and now they can't), then they'll be negative. But I can't not have emotion, because I care. If it all needs to burn down so we can start again and fall back in love, then so be it, I'll get the marshmallows and pull up a chair. Also I can't help but think Longstaff's value has now peaked, as Bruce will ruin his reputation and probably his game too. That'll probably happen for loads of other players too, but for Longstaff it's a real shame as he's young and a prospect under the right manager.
  16. Because losing is more likely to get rid of Ashley, I'd presume. Why post on the match thread at all then? This constant wishing to lose is just grating on me. I won't spend any money on the Toon, realise we need Ashley out, and clearly Bruce is a poor choice for manager. I get that. But I can't cheer when Newcastle gets beat or want them to get beat. A win for the team is a win for Ashley and that really grates on me tbh. This for me. I am and always will be invested in Newcastle as a team, just because I hate what we have and who we've become it doesn't mean I can just switch off and not care. I want back the club I grew up with, I long for the days where we're all trying (and likely failing!) to achieve success, not subsistence. Unfortunately to get that back, we have to lose now. At least that's something I can wish for, something I can get behind. I can't get behind us winning because it's a win for Ashley and it means nothing for the team as we're only aiming for 17th, and prolongs this fucking awful purgatory-like existence.
  17. Yeah doesn't Ashley own a large percentage of KBA? Isn't that money laundering? SD pay Newcastle, Newcastle pay KBA, KBA pay Ashley who takes the money back out. SD benefit from cheap advertising, KBA benefit from a cash injection, Ashley gets paid loads, seems there's only one loser here and as always that's the club.
  18. Just because our aim is to sell players for as profit doesn't mean that every player will be sold every year. Even our idiots will know that you can't do that and continue to function.

I honestly think we should now boycott the Chronicle as well. No buying the paper, no clicking on their links. D'you think? I reached that conclusion 7 years ago. Been as long as I can remember since I last went on their website without it being with Adblock running and in an incognito window. I'm fully in favour of supporting websites that put out worthwhile content, but they don't, so fuck them.
  20. This for me. I'll probably still watch some matches, but not on Sky and certainly not at the ground. I reckon I'll probably watch completely dispassionately now, almost like a neutral, just to see how they're doing. I can't even imagine cheering a goal, not from either side. It'll just be something to put on in the background.
  21. Well, it's probably not what he's used to but I guess most fans would say £70k/year is still a decent wage.
  22. What do you suggest should be done? Not to put words in his mouth, but I think his suggestion would be that the "about 7 Twitter accounts" do more than fuck all to promote the boycott. Seems like a decent starting point to me.
  23. Well change the narrative towards that statement then? Becaue at the moment you're just talking about this one, saying that this one isn't worth talking about. Which seems kinda ironic. FWIW I agree that the statement about 12 people protesting and that everyone will be back supporting us is abhorrent and worth being pulled up about, but that's him talking about an instant which is passed. Downplaying our expectations is probably now ongoing company policy, and whilst as a one-off not that worrying, I think people think it's probably not a one-off and will be back to the Pardew days of constantly hearing how difficult it's going to be to play the likes of Whitley Bay's under 12 girl's team.
