  1. What happened to Red Bull Park?  Are they playing there this season or any time soon?

It was supposed to open this year I think, but there were construction delays, so I believe they pushed back opening the new Red Bull Arena to next year. It should be quite nice when it opens, I might finally attend my first Red Bulls match.

  2. I'm glad to see the MLS going to the Northwest also, even though I'm NYC based. I think the MLS has gotten it right with many of the recent expansions-go to where there are passionate sports fans that will support this, who don't have many other entertainment outlets. Miami wouldn't work because there's no passion there for more sports, even though it's a big market with a seemingly natural fan base of many Hispanics. They have so much else going on down there, and as it is, they barely support the established sports teams like the Marlins. But, as seen in Seattle, which was desperate for a team to get behind, the fans came out in stunning force, and it clearly will be sustained for some time, as seen in the relatively incredible season ticket sales. Portland and Vancouver seem to fit this model also, I can see Montreal working well also. Philly is such a passionate sports city, I am pretty sure their new team will be well supported as well, similar to how Toronto has been supported with their famous (relatively) Red Army. Basically, I hope the MLS continues on their well thought-out recent path, with smart expansion, soccer-specific stadiums, etc. I'd love to eventually become a real MLS fan, and hope that it does begin to catch on as a legitimate sporting option in an otherwise very crowded sports landscape.

  3. I didn't know where else to post this article, so I'll post it here (I don't think it deserves its own thread, and apologies if it's already been posted elsewhere):

Just a general summary of the situation that we all know about, nothing new, but I do think it points out how much everyone else has caught up and realized that our situation this year has become quite dire, even more so than in years past.

  4. Darren Bent scores goals. Period.

Ah right, because sliding across to tap in a ball that was already half a foot away from going in over the line anyway demonstrates this.

Not saying he's not a good player, just that that goal isn't exactly a shining example of Bent being a great goalscorer.

  5. How many times have fans of British clubs been stabbed by Romans now? It happens almost everytime a British club go over there. Absolutely nothing is done about it either. There's outcry at the very hint of disorder by fans from this country, but it seems it doesn't work both ways.

It's those Centurions man. Total hard c***s.

Canny at building walls to, trouble is they just dont know when to stop.

There's more stabbings than you think too. Joaquin Phoenix goes around stabbing people and then putting the armor back on to cover it up so no one knows.

  6. Imagine the SMB if we go down. Their server would be overloaded for months.

I'll tell you what though...if we do get relegated, that'll be it for this f***ing place. Dead.

I hope the admin hold off on committing any further money on new servers, because we won't need it. You wait and see if I'm wrong.

This place will be quieter than HTL's old board.

    :tumbleweed:

Maybe so, but I know that for people like myself outside of England that wouldn't be able to find the game often through other means, we'd be depending on this forum even more for updates on games and what's going on. I mean, hell, what else will we do with our time at work? Do actual work?

  7. It will be an almighty pisser for those of us living abroad - I can currently watch every single match with a decent crowd of Geordie expats down my local (mixed blessing this season mind...) and will really miss the social side as much as anything.

Same here. I'd very much miss being at Nevada Smith's in NYC for the games. I'm piss poor broke, don't have the money to afford expensive cable packages to watch these kinds of games either, and since I'm in NYC, I can't get satellite. I'd have to depend on the Chinese guys to watch, which is always a dicey hit-or-miss proposition, and I'll almost exclusively be following along on this forum. So for me, there is absolutely zero advantage for the team going down, absolutely nothing good come of it for me.
