  1. Maybe. Maybe not. We will never know the answer to that as we weren't involved in it. They were though and we saw how they behaved, therefore they are there to be shot at. I'd like to see @Froggy come out and tell us if he thinks the "punishment" MUFC are to receive is appropriate for their actions.
  2. 99.9% of your people involved with the club rebelled against it because they (rightly, to be fair) saw that Man Utd would end up in a very bad place within a matter of years. If however, they had believed that the ESL would have benefitted MUFC, it's fans and the MUFC matchday experience for the next generation - even if the remaining clubs in the game suffered - then those same protesters would have been all over the ESL like a rash. The perception that is being put forward in some quarters, like @HTT II in his post above for instance (a remarkable stand ffs ), that the fans of the horrible six "came together" to save English football, is a total fallacy.
  3. The protests against your owners were because, with the ESL, they were about to ruin the matchday experience for Manchester United fans. It had nothing to do with thinking of the welfare of other clubs or the game at large.
  4. Is Ferdinand the biggest prick to ever have been produced from the game? It's a pertinent question. Hopefully he continues to big-up Solskjaer so much that he stays there for another 10 years as they are never winning major honours under him.
  5. You jest, but it probably won't be too far off that. What we are going to need to do...IF...the takeover happens, is when knackers embarrass us on the TV, radio or internet then not to have a meltdown about it to fan the flames. At the end of the day, just ignoring this kind of stuff will be the quickest way to make it go away. We could probably do with taking advice from City fans on how to deal with all of the negative media attention.
  6. This whole affair is giving an insight into what it's going to be like if the takeover does go through. The media will constantly stir up shit in a bid to draw out the gobshites in our fanbase into making total tits of themselves on the internet and/or causing trouble for the Saudis themselves. The media will be actively looking for a new "Toongate".
  7. Absolutely. Applauded off the pitch for blatant cheating. Great fans though.
  8. Bollocks. The fans of the top six protested because they knew the ESL would be a dreadful experience for them as fans. It had absolutely sweet f.a to do with doing right by the game as a whole. Their away following is crap too. They are mouthy as fuck until they are losing, after that you dont hear a peep out of them.
  9. He may be a good poster in other areas but he has become nothing but a troll on anything takeover related. And if we are talking insults, you only need to look at one of his latest posts. Could he actually be any more condescending?
  10. Most football fans are freaks man. It's a totally irrational sport to follow. Also, I've met a few SAFC fans in real life who were sound, and who I eventually found out were posters on RTG. Sure enough, some of their posts were the usual vitriolic shite about NUFC. I didn't hold it against them though as I am rational enough to know that football is not real life. Maybe it's the case that the internet allows people to express their true thoughts without the fear or recriminations? All I can say is that from my experience the vast majority of Evertonians hold NUFC and it's support in utter contempt. And the grandoldteam forum is hardly a ragtag affair. It's the EFC supporters' main discussion board.
  11. Every chance that the CAT ends up like that. Gotta love the way law works eh?
  12. You haven't presented any facts or logic at all. You have just noted that Ashley is taking action against the PL and assumed that he is going to win. There is glaring evidence out there right now that it's going to be an uphill struggle to win. The club has a chance but the odds are 50/50 at best.
  13. Every post you make is designed to inflame and irritate. You have absolutely nothing else in your locker. Troll.
  14. I don't have an issue with the idea that he has some strong evidence that can win the day. It's the way he holds himself that is the problem. He's making himself, and therefore the rest of us, look ridiculous.
  15. You are actually the worst poster on these takeover threads. At least those who are negative/cynical give reasoning behind their opinions. You just drop in every few days to make the same bullshit statement, knowing fine well it will just irritate everyone, and then bugger off again for a few days. You are a troll.
  16. You are nothing but a troll. And if it all falls through you will be off in a huffy shot, just like you did in July when the Saudis made their statement of withdrawal.
  17. Someone needs to sit him down and tell him to just shut the fuck up now. He may have obtained the strongest evidence possible but he is just making himself look like a complete tit. "Sauces" ffs.
  18. The whole "friendly derby" thing no longer holds true, apparently (if it ever actually did). I did the Anfield tour a few years ago and the lads conducting the tour told us that there is real animosity between the two fanbases these days.
  19. Have a read of their thread dedicated to us on grandoldteam and you will soon change your mind. They despise us, and their mentality towards NUFC comes across strikingly similar to the mongs on RTG. As far back as I can remember they have had nothing good to say about us, and when we took off in the 90s it really seemed to rattle them, with them referring to us as a "Sky Team". As if we had no history to be proud of pre-1992. I'd love to see them relegated tbh.
  20. One thing that surely everyone can agree on is that the O&D test rules have been written in a vague enough manner to give the PL a significant chance of winning the arbitration. And I imagine that the same applies for their conduct in regards to the CAT case. I dont believe for a second that they have made some kind of glaring schoolboy errors in the way they have handled themselves in all of this, which is why I tend to think Jacobs' take on the situation is a lot closer to reality than Keith's, unfortunately.
  21. So I guess they dont have as close mates on the PL judicial panel as they do on the arbitration panel. Otherwise they could have failed it last year and made it quickly go away for good?
  22. Exactly. What all of this shows is that the test needs to be taken out of their hands and tied in fully with UK law, so that appeals go through the courts and not their mates. The game is too important for it to be ran like a country club.
  23. What would have happened if the PL had actually gone ahead and said "you have failed the test because we think the Saudi state is a shadow director that you are hiding from us"...? Like, who would the appeal have gone through? The PL again? Or a court of some kind?
