I've been following NUFC for 36 years and to me the two clubs have always seemed very similar so I'm not sure where this superiority complex is coming from. Now that they are back in the Prem, go and ask the average Joe on the street who is the biggest club and you might not like the answer you get. The worry that PIF go there is if we get relegated, which at the moment looks highly likely. If we stay up though there is nothing to worry about as we are a more attractive proposition than Leeds. But there is a lot less in it than some believe IMO.

Biggest club in Yorkshire, in a thriving & cosmopolitan city, with a history of winning trophies in the living memory of most people. Attendences count for nothing, especially since Leeds are hardly Wimbledon...they still have attracted pretty large crowds in all the time I have followed the game. At this rate they will be a bigger club than us in 5 months time, never mind never at all. Leeds are a club just waiting to take off. And if the Saudis or Qataris buy them & make them even remotely like Man City they will attract 50k crowds easily. We already attract 50k crowds. In the championship too. And? There seems to be a thought process going on here that, just because NUFC have more potential than Leeds, that somehow Leeds won't be a very attractive proposition to Saudi. He only has to get a win from either Villa or Leeds and that will get him another month. And I think that he will probably get that win from one of those. If he loses both though he's a goner but only IF the takeover is on course to happen.

Being a blind faith believer is all that some of us have left. The scepticism of others is completely understandable and valid though as long as those people don't snigger at the optimists. Having said that, I want to see something concrete develop over the next few weeks as this smoke and mirrors stuff is just tedious now. Anyone thinking the takeover will still happen if we are relegated is simply deluded. If we drop it's over. To be honest its time for both buyer and seller to put their money and plans where their mouths are. Back up the extreme confidence in the deal going through by putting in place Bruce's replacement right now, rather than waiting for any official green light.

This despicable cunt has had a free ride for the last 18 months as the club and its support have effectively been in a coma since Benitez walked. Apathy has reigned supreme but tonight it feels like something has clicked and people have been stirred back into life. Whether its just the final straw of shambolic performances being broken or the dawning realisation that the takeover will be passed but then sacked off because of relegation, one thing is for sure....if he is still here for the next game the level of scrutiny is going to be magnified tenfold.

If Ashley is happy with club outside of bottom 3 as implied by Chronicle, then I suspect takeover is not currently in immediate danger. Obviously things could deteriorate further over next couple of games, but think 8 point gap is saving grace at the minute. When the buyers start getting twitchy he will act. Banking on that gap would be the biggest mistake that Ashley could make. By the time it evaporates it will likely be too late to arrest the slump. If the buyers are as confident as we hear and the takeover looking nailed on then they should be doing everything they can to oust Bruce right this minute and get Benitez back.
