It would seem with every passing week more and more people are coming to my way of thinking when it comes to EH.. I’ve thought his goose has been cooked for months now and nothing I’ve seen, even the odd win, has changed my mind. We need a change.

I like him though.. maybe not quite as much as Rafa but he’s always represented us very well so I’m annoyed that this will probably drag on long enough that the good memories will be overshadowed by the pure frustration of watching the team at the moment.

You mean that you totally overreacted based on very limited data at the beginning in g of the season, and might be proven right just out of sheer luck, and nothing more? And you call me dull when you peddle out the same horse shit.

Gotta ask, is that referencing C.H.U.D which I quite liked as a movie back then or am I way off the mark? I'm sure I'm off the mark.

I was referencing actual Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers. Not the movie propaganda version.

    Go away.

unfortunately the CHUDS are out in full force. If Howe wins a few in a row, they'll of course disappear back into the sewer.

Yeh a blip to fall from the CL To maybe the Conference League. You don’t spend £60m on a midfielder and £70m on fullbacks to not compete in Europe the following year at all.

He ended with the goal of qualifying for Europe in 23/24. Therefore falling short would be considered a failure.

I am sure that they are considering the extenuating circumstances (Tonali, injuries) as well. And they may well weigh exceeding expectations in 22/23 against falling short of them this season. As they expressed concerns about the CL year last year, it’s likely a much safer bet to assume that they will give him some games next season if we finish 10th.

Once again, I think you might be confusing your expectations  with what their’s may be.

Eales in January publicly stated qualifying for Europe was a realistic aim for the rest of the season (and it still is). Should we fall short - we would have failed the mid season target from the CEO. What happens from there - I do not know. Could blame it all on Dan. I thought it was interesting Eales did that interview and not Dan.  Could blame it on Eddie. Who knows.

He said it was realistic but they also discussed last season how hard it can be on thin squads to balance champions league with everything else, which suggests that they have been prepared to experience a blip season

Yes I agree there is no evidence they will sack him for a midtable finish.  There is also no evidence they will keep him with a disappointing midtable finish either.

Im confident there would be a ‘why did things go badly’ conversation. That could go in many directions.  One of which could cost Eddie his job.  That much I think is true.  How likely it is - I have no idea.

They’ve been fairly non reactionary (certainly so in the transfer market) , and even expected this season to be tricker. so I don’t think it’s even odds at all. Likelier that he doesn’t get sacked.

Yes one manager has won league titles in 4 countries and has won 4 CL titles. The other managed Bournemouth. One is proven at the highest level, the other isn’t.

So while Howe shares many strengths and weaknesses with Klopp - he doesn’t have the reputation or proven record. I’m not sure he can survive a 9th placed finish. If we had Klopp - he would survive an awful season.

Where are you getting this though? Honestly Sounds more like your

expectations than the ownership’s right now.

There’s no (realistic) scenario that leads to Howe losing his job before next season - it’s a pointless discussion.

It reflects the impatience of some posters more than the likelier reality.

But both Klopp and Pep proved they were elite coached a long time ago. Howe hasn’t.

I don’t think Howe is as good as either. I would like to see him given a chance to prove me wrong. But this season has the potential to be horrid and cost him his job and he won’t be unlucky if it happens.

He has to scrape us to 7th imo.  From what I’ve seen in the last few weeks - I don’t see it.  We need to improve. Perhaps Joe W coming back is a turning point. He doesn’t have the answers with the current midfield options.

Come on. You’ve had some consistently great posts recently but you

undermine yourself slightly when you go down this path. There is no evidence yet to suggest that they will axe him if we finish mid table this season. You are creating these conditions that he needs to meet this season. The owners (so far) strike me as not particularly reactionary.

I feel like women had nicer breasts back then. Like those triangular retrousse ones. Non-GMO free range tits that pointed upwards.

You must have loved National Geographic from 1968-1979

  11. Wonder how many would argue that Howe won’t budge from bikini lines. You’d never see him make his wife try even a landing  strip. He needs to adapt

 no worries. I’m now surprised that  never heard that one tbh, given that I lived in the UK. I probably should know the term

no Point in porn now that these gen z’ers ruined the art of it with their stepmom’s banging stepson go to’s.

You sure mention your films often.

Yeah I probably do. Not that I am particularly successful at it, mind you.

You just don’t get the concept. Managers that have the energy to just go again season after season are few and far between. Maybe 3 or 4 in world football.

There’s a bunch of very effective managers who can give 2/3 good seasons before fatigue kicks in.

Eddie Howe is a spent force currently but does that make him a bad manager? No it doesn’t.. I think he could do with a break though.

We sack him, someone else will benefit in a year or so.

So what if we had someone else who could come in while Eddie took on a Football Director type role.. while having the time to recharge, upskill and come back with fresh ideas.

2/3 years and that person takes up the role and Eddie steps back in.

You have a squad that never gets stale with training and a plan. It’s not a new idea.. Alex Ferguson didn’t do any of the training.. he got good coaches in and the team stayed fresh.. then changed it up every 3/4 seasons.

But no current manager will ever have a stranglehold on a club like the way SAF did and Eddie Howe is too loyal to his current team so it’ll only go one way unfortunately.

I don’t think the concept is totally unreasonable.

Dude, you have zero concept of human psychology. I was just in a co-director situation for a film  and it was an utter disaster. And given the egos of most directors, very few would ever even agree to it for obvious reasons. Obviously different that your suggestion of rotation, but good luck on getting anyone to buy into that

it’s a complete non starter because you will never get two elite managers agreeing to that. For you to stick with it is just utterly daft. And I assume that you Are better than such a daft suggestion.

You missed the entire point of his post then, which is on you. But fair enough if you are whooshing us. We could use some levity
