If Pochettino is sacked which manager of the calibre they are looking for would actually go there?

It looks a poisoned chalice if I ever saw one.  A team assembled by spreadsheet and FM predicted potential.  Presumably limited money to spend as Chelsea owe all the money to pay for these players but have declining revenue due to no European football and poor league finishes. Also their commercial revenue was pretty maxed out so no much scope to cover cost/raise money that way.  They look like a cautionary tale in the making. Normally I'd feel for the fans a but it's Chelsea fans.

I was sure Pochettino would get something out of them. At Spurs he had them training twice a day, they were fit and hard working, and he instilled a system. But at Chelsea, fuck all. I doubt his methods have changed, but this gaggle of expensive wasters just aren’t good enough.

  2. Whoever plays at the base of the midfield needs to be able to control games and calm things down when needed, it’s what we’ve always lacked and I think it’s clear now that Bruno isn’t that guy. Even when we’re in good form our games get too chaotic for my liking. I’ve 100% come round to the idea of a DM.

  3. I think summer will be another lowish spending window, lower than usual. The money won’t be there for Bruno and I doubt a better offer will be forthcoming for Joelinton.

McTominay and Gallagher are lazy links, and I suspect Onana is getting shopped around because Everton need the money.

Was he trying to claim it was a deliberate handball then? Fucking hell. That’s a bit of a reach

Also, the whole ‘that’s your opinion’ bollocks. No, it is literally the law for handball in the league

He’s a mental midget that one, just like Arteta.

Yeah, time was we could have kept Bruno and bought new players.

The idea that we have to sell to rebuild when really we’re only a couple of years into this is insane. I suppose in 18 months or so we’d sell Isak too just so we can continue doing business. Citing West Ham and Villa is fine, but they haven’t actually achieved anything more than us yet, they haven’t broken into the cartel.

What figure would that be. We bought him for £12m if we got more than that for him 2 years later it's a no brainer.

He could play for another 3 seasons in the German league. Livramento would be keeping him out of our starting line up next season if we bought a lb.

I think we must have a target in sight in a more critical position and trips going is just part of the collateral. I doubt that we would just sell for the sake of it and he is on £140k per week.

If we got our money back and he wants to go then it’s ok I suppose. I think Bayern are looking for cheap deals though. I’ve not seen any figures mentioned yet, other than them preferring a loan.

I read somewhere that if Toney moves we get a significant (whatever that means) sell on fee….this can be used towards FFP surely?

But we didn’t even sell him to Brentford, not sure how that would work.

West Ham who signed Paqueta, Alvarez and Kudus…3 players who’d start for us mate. Think that analogy doesn’t work anymore to be fair.

Perhaps, but you can also argue it works as long as it’s not getting them anywhere. Not sure Alvarez is that good though.

  9. The fact he made his reputation in Bielsa’s Leeds team makes me optimistic. Leeds were far more like us stylistically than Man City. On the other hand is does slightly whiff of an Everton/West Ham signing. It’s hard to be opposed to it without knowing the other options and targets in other positions.
