  1. Unless he improves his attacking side of the game and learns to find more space down the wing i cant actually see him being here long term, defensively i think he's absolutley excellent, theres part of me that think he might be effective in the centre as his judgement and strength is very good as is his composure.

However Keegan will surely be looking to utilise the attacking potential of our full backs and unless Enrique does learn that side fo his game i cant see keegan sticking with him for too long as it leaves the side a little ubalnanced.

  2. The thing that i noticed thought regarding Beye and Enrique as full backs is that Enrique never got/found the same sort of space that Beye did going forward. Cant figure out whether its down to him or whether Birmingham were just turing the screw down the left. Noticed a few times.

Mainly because Geremi was offering a lot of support to the right but Barton was drifting inside more than sticking out left which is to be expected.

Thing is though that ive noticed it in most games he's played, next time he plays take a look at his attacking side of the game. Beye gets forward a hell of a lot more than Enrique ever does.

  4. I never liked him as a person either, he was just so arrogantly smug, always hated it when he never celebreated doing something pretty amazing. Always thought it was for show and tell. Liked him less when he moved and Arsenal finally came out of his considerable shadow.

Would have him being an arrogant smug twat here in a flash though!

  5. Wasnt long ago when all you wankers were ripping the piss out of him

    but anyway, he was immense

Again, must have missed something. Played well, but the praise, and surprise at the substitution is waaaaay overboard.

    [/quote

Think most of the praise is coming from the relief at finally seeing someone who poses a threat AND works his arse off.

  6. I would be absolutely chuffed if someone plucked Adriano back out of the Brazillian league. If West Ham were close to getting him then surely we have a chance, he would be a f****** immense signing. Has absolutley everything to his game, potentially the perfect striker. Surprised more tema havent been sniffing around him, maybe his attitude is an absolute stinker.

If you think Viduka is lazy... Well, guess what.

No doubt about it, its the reason he's in Brazil and not in Madrid but if there was any chance of getting him here i wouldnt think twic about it. He'd be perfect for the premiership. Even as a lazy player he'd still be class.

  7. I thought Martins played very very well today.  I understand the substitution, although personally I'd have taken off Viduka who seemed well-knackered.  I've been arguing for a Martins-Owen partnership, thinking the two would provide chances for each other.  The best strikers (by far) that Newcastle have, and both played well tonight, imo.  Linked well, and what do you know, Martins essentially created the goal for Owen -- and helped to provide Owen the earlier chance as well by giving the defence someone else to worry about, not just double/triple-marking Owen.  A partnership between Martins and Owen should benefit both players, as it forces defences to pay attention to more than one striker at a time.

Owen is now joint top-scorer for Newcastle with Martins.  He has 3 of the club's 4 goals since Keegan's arrival.  He's consistent, proven and has great reaction-time and instinct.  Played well tonight, worked very hard and provided a very important goal.  Looked to play well with Martins.

Martins has pace, unpredictable runs, long-range & powerful shooting.  His link-play wasn't great, but Owen dropped off well to do that and give Martins a bit more upfront.  Oba played great tonight, ran his socks off, and was a consistent danger, as well as essentially providing an assist for Owen's goal.  Most importantly, unlike the "player" he replaces in the XI, Oba scores and can scare a defence.

I liked the Martins-Owen pairing, and IF Viduka gets fit, 4-3-3 might actually work to Newcastle's advantage.  Especially if we get Milner and/or N'Zogbia back into the midfield.  Was less than impressed with at least one midfielder today (allright, with 2 of the 3 actually).

Strange but there indroduction of Martins in the team has made the team look a hell of a lot more dangerous in terms of personal as well, maybe going a bit over the top here, but Martins seems to galvonise the squad a bit more because he provides more of an option to midfilders drooping deep and keeping possession of the ball more.

Look at the quartet of Zog, Martins, Owen and Emre and you have some excellent attacking options.

  8. I would be absolutely chuffed if someone plucked Adriano back out of the Brazillian league. If West Ham were close to getting him then surely we have a chance, he would be a fucking immense signing. Has absolutley everything to his game, potentially the perfect striker. Surprised more tema havent been sniffing around him, maybe his attitude is an absolute stinker.

  9. He'd easily turn into Lolinha if we signed him.

We may have killed the former Italian U21 captains career & sooperstar in waiting Viana but we launched Bellamy (PFA Young Of The Year 2002)  & Jenas (PFA Young Of The Year 2003) .

Who was that then out of interest?

  10. Been saying this for a long time, i know he's not perfect and probably wont be but i think he's a very good player who is very capable of winning games on his own. He's played under some shit systemsand so far has come out good, with a good goalscoring record. Scares the shit out of defenders and that alone makes him invaluable to the team. Am convinced that there is a partnership between him and Owen if we adapt to a short passing game next season.

  11. Martins sub seems to have been a strange one, personally would of taken off Viduka or Owen if we were doing as Keegan said and adding another midfielder to see out the game.

The midfield was still tosh if you ask me, thought defensively Butt was excellent broke up opposition play really well. Think the game depended on him doing so as Barton and Geremi werent offereing a great deal. As good as this perfomance was it depends too much on Butts perfomrnaces if you ask me.

I still have faith in Barton and in the long run would like to see him replace Geremi or if he's converted to a throughbred DM which i think he could be, but i'd like to see a bit of a link up between Emre and Martins, could be a dangerous combination. Will be nice to have a decent ball player who can pass along the ground well.

  12. Yoan Gourcuff seems to be out of favour with Ancelotti.

very talented player, doubt he would come to a club without European football mind.

Id of said the same about alot of players that Man City signed....

  13. I hate the media, bit of a tangent but i heard that that police officer killed himself because a sunday newsapaper was gonna print a kiss and tell story. What a price to pay in order to sell a few papers if true.

    I really despise the scavengers.

  14. Nah, can do without, dont get me wrong, i think he's a very good player but i dont even think Eto'o could come here and score to be honest, Diarra and Woodgate would probably be the 2 players for me who would of had any effect on our side who went this t4ransfer period.

  15.

Keegan doesn't say how much does he ?

I'm sorry Johnny, but while Ashleys donation is commendable, its not what I want from him. The fortunes of the club come first and things like this and PR gimmicks can come later.

If someone is a s**** owner, chairman or whatever, I'm just not interested in how good a bloke he might be.

His donation to Sport Relief has nothing to do with you, maybe you should just think how lucky you are that you don't need it and just hope that if you ever do somebody is prepared to help you and that they will not get criticised if they do.

my point is that people like you are of the opinion that being a good bloke means you are a good chairman. And vice versa.

You don't need to tell me there are lots of worthy charities out there.

No, the point is that he seems to be a good bloke, nothing more nothing less. Football has nothing to with this thread.

  16. .. bought three tickets to their Alan Sugar thingy for 100k, top bloke!

    aye, smashing.

Never mind that the team is in the s**** though,

Never mind that the transfer window is now closed so no money can be spent on the team and he did make money available in January but it was not spent.

how much ? Why wasn't it spent ? Keep deluding yourself. If you think that it is OK that we can't force the hand of small clubs like Blackburn to sell us their best players, welcome to true mediocrity the likes of which you clearly don't understand. But soon will if this is the path they are choosing to follow.

At the end of the day, I don't really give a toss how good a bloke runs the football club if we are struggling and they don't capitalise on the fanbase.

Did we even try and get anyone from Blackburn?

KK says there's money there and he chose not to spend it, I for one believe him. Do you not believe him?

    How much ?

I have no idea. Do you? But from what I've been told there is serious cash there for him to use.

Straight forward question mate, just answer yes or no. Keegan said there's money to spend but he chose not to. As you don't think there is money for him to spend. Is Keegan then a liar, yes or no?

Keegan doesn't say how much does he ?

    hahaha,

Keegan - "I have £50m to spend, this January"

Although he does crypitically say, "the money was there to spend but we couldnt get anyone in"

What a tricky bastard - always talking in bloody riddles!

Cue retort regarding "happy with relegation etc"

This is a thread to commend a bloke who happens to be our owner for donating a happy amount to charity. Specifically speaking that £100k will go for loads and loads of poor families etc etc, you know the score and just to reiterate how pathetic you actually are you turn this into a thread about the football, because according to you that is the most important aspect of this thread.

You are a pathetic old man with no perspective.

  17. Gotta say, im not the biggest fan of Milner but something tells me that we'd be making a bit of a mistake selling him, last year to be honest i thought he had England potential, he was one of our most productive players and was definitely consistent, bit unfair booting him out on the back of this seasons farce but for £8m......if only he worked on his crossing.

  18. aye, to be fair despite our resonalby limited history regarding trophies etc, we still have some amazing memories which a lot of clubs would love to have.

I think though that the stand out result for me was that 5-0 slapping of Man U. Every single club in the premiership wanted to be in that position and it was an amazing result. I think some clubs would swap silverware to have that in the memory cabinet.

    Priceless.
