From all the players we had solid links to in the last year:
Huijsen - Went to Real, can't begrudge anyone that
Cunha - Cost a fortune and Man Utd are paying him a fuck load
Mbeumo - Cost a fortune and Man Utd are going to pay him a fuck load
Guehi - Palace demanded far more than what he's worth and player happy to stay, now likely headed to Liverpool, again, can't begrudge that move
Pedro - Chelsea are paying him more and for longer, terrible footballing move but he's financially squared away for generations now
I'm sure there's other examples that I'm missing but the common theme is that we seem to be fishing in the same pond as our competitors except they have a much better fishing rod and tastier bait. We're nowhere near the top of the footballing food chain yet, we need to be getting the guys mentioned above before they get their PL move. We share a league with the Super League 6, snapping up the best, ready made, midtable talent for premium prices is a battle we're never going to win

Roma in FFP trouble. Would anyone take Tammy Abraham as the Callum Wilson replacement?
Yes but take Soule first

Honestly not that bothered. 60m is near Isak money and more than Tonali. He wasn’t worth that.
-
Like Hugo Ekitike, you get two bites of the cherry. After that, you can bugger off.
We got Botman second time around. Hugo said no, Joao said no. Let’s see what happens with Guehi and Elanga.
-
It’s 29 June. Where are all the PSR mad swap deals?!! Last year the whole end of June was mad.
Or is it only relevant when we’re under pressure?
-
I’d love pif or Howe or whoever is making the decisions to get so royally annoyed by playing nicey nicey and getting players that they can grow like Pedro to think screw it let’s just get Osimhen. Similar to Ekitike to Isak
-
But we lose leverage if we stick to the same signing. Joao Pedro we tried for in the past ditto Elanga ditto Trafford. All three clubs know we want them bad. Why would you let them go for cheap when you know the richest club in the world (allegedly) wants them? We haven’t shown much in the way of going for alternatives when we are priced out in any way.

If we get JP that closes the door on Xavi Simons I guess...
It was nice to dream -
If we get that level of player, would be ok with Wilson signing an extension as backup assuming Osula would be number 2 and Wilson no. 3
Pedro can play up front but not sure Simons can

Wonder who our alternatives to Pedro would be. Haven't seen any other names linked for the positions he covers
Xavi Simons would Be one
probably cost 60-70m but he’s only 22 and is of the Tonali Isak level signing
-
Longstaff potentially would be a very good signing for Burnley now that I think about it.
Ditto Dubravka, Wilson and Targett.
All would bring PL experience. -
If we got those 3 plus Scalvini - perfect.
Then I'd just like another midfielder, even on loan, and even if a Norgaard back up type.
I do think Longstaff's race has been run here. Willock too, so some fresh energy in the middle would be very needed.

Don’t think it will happen, but Trafford, Guehi, Elanga and Pedro would be a remarkable transfer window.
Lacks sexy names like an Isak or Tonali but I agree

One thing about Elanga, he's very focused on personal development ands self-improvement, extremely hungry to be the best. That's probably what attracts Howe the most
Joelinton, Gordon, Bruno, Isak, Tonali all seem to have this aspect in spades, Anderson did too
Shelvey, Fraser and anyone not quite there were shown the door sharpishThis is worth a watch for those in the UK: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0l3hnym/premier-league-anthony-elanga-on-chasing-greatness-at-nottingham-forest

I can see us dropping 150-160m this summer.
Maybe Longstaff pure profit and Willock might go - with Miley and Pedro covering thatWhatever the case is, I feel the team does need 4 minimum first team ready signings at the very least.
-
If Pedro, Elanga, Scalvini, Ramsey and Trafford sign - that would actually be a very solid window. Add Walker-Peters or Lamptey for backup and jobs a good un for this summer.
Can it compete for title? Not sure - as it perhaps lacks the star quality of Liverpool and Man City in particular but definitely top 4 worthy.
Would also want 3-4 youngsters (Cordero is one, Korean is 2) to keep things fresh and ready for the future. -

We won’t be signing Pedro and Elanga imo
I think the whole reason for a signing like Elanga is because Pedro will also be signing and he's the 'door opener'.
Otherwise the RW slot would have been a more creative choice. -

Think there should be a definite limit on youth players.
And I think 35 senior players is too many. Need to lower it so clubs can’t buy players just to loan them out. Talent should be spread throughout leagues, not a disproportionate amount of registrations held by a select few clubs.
Absolutely agree with this.
It's literally a cheat code -

We seem to have quite a close relationship with Forest and with Wood and Anderson they’ve absolutely got value for money out of us.
Feel like we will know if they are open to selling before we’ve made this bid. All feels quite performative. We’ll have to pay a handsome price but if they are set on him as the right guy I’m happy with it.
Especially as they're buying Timothy Weah as a replacement
Right now they're winning the head to head - Wood and Anderson and Vlad vs the Shelvey flop
Thought a few seasons ago they'd be the club for Lascelles to return back to but they seem to be more ambitious than that now. Feel like Lascelles could do a job for a Leeds Utd and give them leadership and experience from the back -

Eh. Team was consistently shit - hard to get excited by any of them. Only Gini & Mitro showed signs of any ability.
Thauvin was a disgrace in our shirt.
I meant that summers transfer window, not the season itself which I agree was terrible.
For me personally after the terrible seasons of 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15, where Ben Arfa was let go, where Kinnear had been and gone, where there had been chaos with Carver and just general negative feeling, that summer I felt ooh maybe the near miss of relegation the previous season has changed the ethos of Ashley (more fool me) and finally he actually is trying to bolt the horse onto the cart or whatever his stupid saying was
