Trust me guys, we are title challengers next year.
-
I’ve said it all along; this season was 1994/95, Man U are equivalent of Everton then, and that final today was the Paul Rideout 1-0 win in 1995
We will sign a Ginola RW, Ferdinand ST, Hislop GK and a Barton CB for us, perhaps even a David Batty and and Asprilla equivalent too
Cant wait
-
Wouldn’t mind DCL for 10m plus Wilson. That feels like win win
-
Giles or Pinto
-
Genuinely has been an entertaining season, I've been fully all in for most games. Disappointed slightly with 7th, felt 6th would have been fairer for us than Chelsea, who literally were bottom half most of the season it felt. Chelsea have done a Roeder 2006/7 seaon by their late season form I have to say - but perhaps ECL is better than EL for next seasons prospects so can't complain
-
What came to mind for me - the only realistic one I could see us getting of that calibre would be Osimhen but even then it would be a big risk as he would cost almost the same.
But let's argue for example Kane was available for 70M, and we get 140M for Isak. (Ferdinand was also a lot older than Cole when we bought him) - you're guaranteeing goals in a way but missing the potential of what Isak could become. Would that be a move worth making?
-
Here's a hypothetical question - given all the comparisons to the 1994/95 season... Isak leaving would be like Cole leaving, shock, disbelief, heartbreak, tears, anger.
Who would the "Ferdinand" replacement need to be for you to accept it? -
In order of preference:
GK: Marmadishvii, Ramsdale, Trafford
CB: Scalvini/Diomande/Silva, Tosin, Kelly
CM: MGW, Doue, Ndidi
RW: Raphinia, Olise, Chiesa, Williams, Roony Bardjhi, Matias Soule
ST: Sesko, Guirassy, Vitor Roque
Youngsters: Rigg, Cozier-Duberry, Zenon

Make the most of Howe next season, he's off the season after in that case
-
Who’s the Paqueta / Maddison of this window?
-
Just shows fine margins, if we’d won at Old Trafford we’d have finished 6th
or held on vs Everton and beaten Brighton
-
Third choice after new and Minteh
-
I’ve mentioned before the parallels with 1994/95, we finished 6th that season but missed out on Europe due to Everton unexpectedly winning the FA Cup final against the dominant team of the era, Man U.
Next week Man U are going to be Everton, aren’t they?

Imagine it came out it was in fact Jacob playing for Oxford yesterday
No if it was him he would have hit the post at least once

Was watching his interview with Nobby, he would actually be a great buy for one of the promoted clubs, remember he added a lot of flair to Benitez functional side, he works hard and does have more quality than any of the promoted sides do. £15-20m and they can’t really go wrong. Similarly for a club like Everton he would be a great buy, who in their team is better than him?

Can see him scoring on Sunday

When was the last time we had a keeper this bad that played more than half a season of games?
Plenty
Rob Eliot is a clear and easy example and from not that long ago

Assuming the following are off:
Hayden
Dummett
Ritchie
Almiron
LewisHendrick
Fraser
Karius
Dubravka
Targett
That's 10 players very likely going out. Not including the maybes like Longstaff, Wilson, Trippier, Ashby etc.
Who's coming back in for next year?Minteh, Tonali
Possibly Ashby, Kuol, new Man City kid (all under 21 so don't count)
Tosin (RCB cover)
Kelly (can cover Burn/Hall)
GK (Mamadishivili)
RW (Almiron replacement
Back up CF (Isak/Wilson backup)
CM (replacement for Longstaff)
The squad needs A LOT of work this summer. It needs a 1995/96 type summer where 5-6 top class recruits come in, Ginola, Ferdinand, Hislop, Barton, Batty, Asprilla to challenge.
-
Longstaff must go.
Anderson can stay as back up CM
Miley must go out on loan.
That's 3 midfielders down.
We must get at least 1 if not 2 midfielders, one perm, one on loan is fine.
-
BBC Gossip column has said Kephren Thuram is available to Liverpool for £13m
And that Gabriel Veiga wants to come back to Europe this summer.
Both could work in that CM, wouldn't break the bank either of them.
I do think we will try and get Desire Doue once and for all this summer. -

Following on from the manager 5 a side team yesterday, whats the best XI of footballers in their prime, ever to play for us at some point?
Given
Trippier Campbell Woodgate Pearce
Beardsley Gascoigne Keegan Waddle
Rush Shearer
Quite attacking heavy. A couple in there who were possibly the best in the world at a point in time.
I'd definitely replace Waddle with Barnes or Ginola, and Rush with Kluivert or Owen
Bench:
Pope
Coloccini
Albert
Batty
Ben Arfa
Isak
Asprilla

Isn't Trafford a regen of Woodman?
Woodman was equally if not more highly rated and yet struggled when given the opportunity due to inexperience, same as Trafford
Probably better getting Woodman back, at least he's home grown and more experienced now
