NEWCASTLE United star Clarence Acuna has been banned from the road after being caught drink driving. The Chilean international midfielder, who was dressed as Captain Hook for the club's Christmas fancy dress celebrations, was stopped by police in his luxury car a few hundred yards from the party near his home on Newcastle's Quayside. Officers spoke to him in City Road after his £30,000 Mercedes SLK sports car swerved over central lines. Acuna, 27, who was twice over the limit, was banned yesterday from driving for two years and fined £1,000 with £75 costs by Newcastle magistrates. Acuna, who has a flat on the Quayside, drove last Monday because he did not want people to see his costume.
