Newcastle v Scunthorpe - 19:45 Wednesday 17/03/10 pre-match thread
Heron replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
TBH we have to make this a massive game, go out and murder them and really put Forest out of sight. -
Sheffield United (h) on Easter Monday, that's why I took the Tuesday off... Hot Cross from Gutierrez and Bun-dled in by Carroll, 78th minute, cue pandemonium.

No, because we'd been battered enough at that point to have shed the devine righter atitude prevalent this time around. Do you believe we as fans have a divine righter attitude though? or are we not just expecting higher standards than last season?
-
So you havent even seen video's of the football we played that season ? Am I supposed to take thousands of supporters' opinions from a bit of video footage like?
-
Genuine question, as I was too young to know...but did Keegan get questioned and doubted as much when he took us up?
-
I can't understand the problem with continuing to stereotype them as paedo's...everyone stereotypes everyone, that's what makes football atmospheres so good.
-
if you're sitting anywhere in the Gallowgate get the South East Corner which links the Gallowgate and East Stand. Near the back too if possible. IMO, other than Level 7 it's the best place in the ground for atmosphere. Not quite as good as L7 but still...

Choking a lot today, but comments like that (what you point out in your post, not your post) are f***ing retarded. It doesn't take more then an ounce of sense to realise that people aren't being serious when they say something like that I know...but it's what others are pretty much getting at when they come out with other less obvious s****. They're getting at the fact that Hughton's a spineless f***er who doesn't have the guts to risk a loss while going for a win. Obviously he wants us to win every game, but he'll often go out for a draw, when teams put pressure on us (which is inevitable when the gameplan is to draw) he becomes a rabbit in the headlights. The man doesn't understand that sometimes the best form of defence is attack. Now I went over to watch the match today thinking that a draw would be a good result. But that doesn't mean we should play as if the draw is all we've come for. It doesn't mean we should bring on a burden like Nicky Butt and take off one of our best outlets up front, that only put more pressure on us. So when we're 2-1 down and getting over-ran you'd prefer to keep getting over-ran and lose rather than bring on someone who can provide a benchmark for us to attack by simply helping us get a hold in the game? Dare I say it but Away draws may be what takes us up this season automatically, so like it or not its working. We weren't 2:1 down though. It was 1:1 when Butt came on and we'd actually just started to turn it around and put some pressure on them, that disapeared once Butt came on (and Lovenkrands who was the only front man causing them problems came off) Okay.

He's past it, we can all agree, but are there benefits in playing him at times? I'd argue Yes (tin hat on), but please discuss...

s****. Hughton has brought people in, and he has also made a squad not a group of individuals. I'm saying that's the way a lot of people will see it. I don't agree with it. Ah, fair play - sorry mate.

I think 'Boro hate being insignificant as opposed to us personally (correct usage of word?). No-one really cares about them...

Choking a lot today, but comments like that (what you point out in your post, not your post) are f***ing retarded. Agreed.

they tried to knock him out so they could shag him...apparently.

The thing people don't realise is despite Nicky Butt being past it and seemingly thick as pig-shit at times, he has a lot of experience and he talks to the rest of the team. We needed a leader and in him coming on we got one. I'll be the first to admit I was thinking "what the fucks Hughton doing?!?!" Butt he obviously did the right thing. P.S. I cannot believe the amount of shit people come out with at times, he brought Butt on to stop us winning...fuck off man.

I can't wait until that promotion goal goes in at home...

Is Mike Ashley steering Newcastle United in the right direction?
Heron replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
In all honesty, I think it's the back to the wall mentality we have. We got relegated and got rid of those who wouldn't fight for us out of our dark corner, and now we have a squad who wants to fight for each other and the fans, and our support seems to be far more positive, thanks to results. Their is one key man in all of this success and no it isn't Mike Ashley, it's Chris Hughton. -
Will the Hughton doubters be happy when we've gained promotion, btw? Or will they complain that he won''t cut it in the Premier'?
-
Chrissy Hughtons Black and White Army - We hate Sunderland!!!

If we gain 3 points on Forest before we play them and then beat them at home, then Sheffield United on Easter Monday could be the game we gain promotion. I'm thankful to say I've already booked that Tuesday off, I suggest y'all do the same...
