  1. Can anyone recommend a good place to have a full English in the city centre that isn't also a pub? Usually go to the Butterfly Cabinet in Heaton, but service can be a bit slow and it doesn't open until 10.

There's a tiny little greasy spoon type place just over the road from Central Station on Grainger Street, open very early.

It's nowt special, but if you just want a fry up...

    Edit: Open from 7am.

Ah yea think I know it - they also sell tinnies as well don't they?!

It's either that or the Cafe Royal, going by the Newcastle Restaurants thread. Don't think Cafe Royal is quite the right vibe for a pre-derby day feed.

  2. Agree, he has done reasonably well. Would be happy for him to stay as back-up RB but a) I'd be surprised if he was keen (and can't really blame him for that) and b) not sure our management staff would be so keen - they'd rather have the likes of Perch and Anita who can cover a few positions.

  3. He's carrying some weight. It really can't be argued.

Wish I was carrying that amount of weight!

It's relative, mate. You carry yours so well, too.

 I know it's relative - was just saying.

  4. Pardew has said he'll start, like.

Genuinely? He said catergorically that Marveaux will be starting on Sunday? I am bit surprised as that is a game i could see him getting squeezed out of. Can you give a link to the quote please?

Sure I read it in some of the post match comments. Could be on twitter, on here, or another website. You can start looking, if you want? I've already read it once, don't need to again.

I've looked, can't see owt. Might be on twitter, i'm not on that.

Said on the nufctv interview that Marveaux isn't good playing Thursday and Sunday which is why he had a limited role last night, kind of indicates more a role on Sunday.

Cheers! Yes, it does. Funnily enough, i think he might be better coming on as a sub on Sunday when they start to knacker. Guess we'll see though.

The way I interpreted his NUFCtv interview suggested he will almost certainly start. 'He's not good Thursday/Sunday, but he will be fine for Sunday' or something on those lines.

  5. Was just coming on to say the same thing. Makes selection on Sunday interesting. Haidara or Jonas at LB?

Jonas was arguably MOM against Fulham so would be difficult to leave him out against the Mackems, but if he doesn't play full-back then he is going to end up taking the place of someone like Marveaux or Gouffran which I wouldn't like to see.

  6. When we win 2-0 or more today, does anyone know when the Liverpool game will kick off? Assume it will be postponed to sunday 28th of april, but will it be early or late? Im going on a business trip at the end of that week, and was hoping to be able to attend the match, but the last flight to Stavanger, Norway from Newcastle on sunday leaves at 06.30 pm.

Pretty sure it will still be televised and be a lunchtime kick off on the Sunday if need be.

  7. Was spraying it about early doors, but drifted out of it little. Thought at one point one of him or the Greek in midfield for Fulham were going to get sent off - they were kicking/mouthing off at each other.
