Didn't have time to post this pre-game, but was disappointed to see Perch retain his place ahead of Tiote.
(I know that Perch has since had a shocker with the goal, but I thought this anyway and Colo has to take a share of the blame for his silly foul in a dangerous area.)
Pardew's man management in public is excellent, but he does have a tendency to bottle the big selection decisions.
It seems that we have to lose games in order for him to make changes. Williamson played against Reading and arguably cost us points. Taylor was on the bench for that game and had he played the result may have been different.
Now Tiote hasn't been at his best this year, but Perch is just OK at what he does. He was the worst player on the pitch against Chelsea and Cheik should have taken his place. You always play the best XI to take the points on the day for me.

As if Niall Quinn knows what panache means.
-
Fucking hell Perch.
-
I'm not sure how to do it, but would someone be so kind as to edit to thread title to reflect the fact Debuchy and Gouffran can't play please?!
-
Krul
Santon Yanga-M'Biwa Coloccini Haidara
Cabaye Anita/tiote
Sissoko
Marveaux Gouffran
Cisse
Can give this competition a real go with that lineup.
Who wants to say it?!

Adebayor not due back in London until Friday morning. Any word on whether Tiote is back? I guess the squad wont all train together again until Friday given the international games.
-
Can't believe Franco Di Santo even gets in the squad when they have Messi, Higuain, Aguero, Tevez and Lavezzi.
-
If anyone wants a train ticket to London on Friday PM me.
Leaves Newcastle at 15.58.

We haven't got a game on the Saturday after this. There's no reason we shouldn't see a nearly full side in the home leg at least.
-
Just checking, but if we got through we'd be at home in the second leg of the next round?
It's obvious looking at the fixtures, but for some reason I had it in my head that it was the other way around.
-
I'd always rather see Tiote start than Perch at DM. I like Perch and think he is an excellent squad player, but can't really believe anyone, given a straight choice between the two, wouldn't go for Tiote.

From what people say on here:
Gouff cup tied.
Moussa and Haidara alright to play.
One of Debuchy/Mapou
-
You'd imagine so, but Debuchy came in first - they may have promised him that he can play in Europe to sweeten the deal?
-
Hope he's registered in Europe as he needs game time.
-
His name is Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa,
He is brilliant in the air,
And he's got an evil stare!
His name is Mapou Yanga-Mbiiiiiwaa,
We trust in Graham Carr who said he would go far,
His name is Yannngga-Mbiiiiwaa!
(To the tune of Copocabana)
I enjoyed it.

The mackems shelled out for his flight, Cisse, Cisse
Instead they got Wickham who is shite, Cisse, Cisse (squeezed in an extra syllable I know!)
He gets the ball, he scores a goal, he looks a bit like Andy Cole,
Papiss Cisse Newcastle's number 9.
Not politically correct?!
Why has this not received any love?
I like it
Thanks pal. I thought it was alright as well!
-
Can't believe Shola Ameobi is still getting top flight games.
FYP
-
I tried.
-
"Pretty much" throws us a crumb of hope I guess.

Great news. Get through the next 2 games and we should have a full squad for available for the run in.
-
Hopefully we might see him in at least 1 of the Europa games.
-
Looking forward to this - just got to find the cheapest way of getting up from the Westcountry!

Becchio - Morison swap done. Some money involved too but didn't catch who was paying who.
My Norwich supporting mate was insisting last night that Leeds were paying them. Something to do with Becchio having 6 months left on his contract, while Morrison had 18.

I've said that. I'd rather have Tiote in than Perch every time. I quite like Perch, but Cheikh is a far superior footballer. He also tends to turn up against the big sides.
