  1. Would love to see Kamara here, think he is the best of the bunch at this level. Would also be keen to see Harewood join him if possible. Would take both of them over the Hull pair, if only because I don't want us to be loaning players from Phil Brown.

Slightly OT but has anyone else thought that this must be one of few situations where a player could potentially go out on loan to play in front of a crowd twices as big?! (Disregarding situations were big clubs sign players on-loan where a permanent transfer is already agreed but the transfer windown gets in the way)

  2. When I started reading I thought that it was going to say the best midfield in the championship. That is a statement which I would not argue with.

On paper we have plenty of quality with Barton, Smith and Butt all with England caps (Butt with plenty), Nolan arguably unlucky not to have one, Guthrie and Taylor having played for the u-21s, Geremi with over 100 Cameroon caps and Gutierrez in the current Argentina squad (plus the supposed wonderkid Vukic), however, in reality they proved themselves to lack pace, the ability to tackle, distribute and hold onto he ball as well as often providing a poor final ball for the strikers to feed off last season.

  3. Aye mine are 83-84 as well. The que for 83 was massive with 15 mins to go but there was a 30 second que for 84. Had the problem with the club having sold season ticket holder seats on general sale. Hopefully that will cease to be a problem now as it seems the club have a policy that those few blocks will be for season ticket holders and on the day cash payers only?

  4. Aye was packed up there, particularly compared to sat. There going to have to sort the cash turnstiles out though, I assume that the tickets have seat numbers on? Still it took a lot of people a long time to sell a seat. The club have even managed to double sell 3 of our season ticket seats which wasn't so amusing!

  5. Timmy, Timmy Krul

There's gotta be something better than that for our future No 1?

Some clown stood behind me yesterday was singing "Tim, Tim in goal" to that song, nearly pissed myself laughing every time he came out with it. ;D

Some muppet next to me was singing "Damien, Damien Duff" !

I've got to admit, i did at first.

If it was me or not, is a different question though.

Haha not sure mate, made me chuckle though. Probably wasn't as the lad didn't have a geordie accent and he didn't realise he was singing the wrong thing until Krul came over at the end and we were singing it and all of a sudden he changed mid song!

  7. Smith and Duff. Utter c***s the two of them. Both of the perfect definition of living of past glories. In fact, they've both been retired for three years.

Wages aside, there's not many Championship teams they wouldn't walk into and be their main player. I think some people are forgetting the level we've dropped to.

That argument is irrelevant because we don't belong in the lower divisions. We've dropped to that level exactly because of them.

How on earth is that irrelevant? You saying that we don't belong in the lower divisions is irrelevant. The FACTS are that we are in the Championship and everything that happened last season is gone. Those players weren't good enough to keep us in the prem last season, however, we probably have a fair number of players (Taylor, Colo, Enrqiue, Duff, Smith, Nolan, Barton, Jonas, maybe Ryan Taylor, Steve Harper) that would get into the starting XI's of the majority of other championship sides.

  8. Depends massively on the price I believe, the club MUST get this spot on. The club will need to work out the best possible price that they can offer in order to attract the majority to renew season tickets. If the prices arent reduced enough then we could end up with a half empty stadium, however, if the club get the prices right then there is no reason that we cant get 40k plus. Knowing the people who run our club I wouldn't be suprised if they mess it up completely with many not renenewing. We are a championship club now whether we like it or not and so people will only be prepared to pay championship prices.
