Part of the reason I didn’t buy a shirt yesterday, the whole thing was chaos. Cardboard boxes all over the floor, no info about patches, no confidence in the printing either.

Wait until it settles down in a month’s time.

    ? that’s castore

they design some nice shirts, but rank amateur in every other department.

no idea why people are wetting themselves over the thought of getting Adidas and ending up with a Juventus style shirt. obviously the club has some involvement with the design. and we’re in good hands with the likes of Eales.

There's a bit of uproar knocking about in the usual places about this deal, and Sela being backed heavily by PIF. I'm sure I don't need to add the usual caveats on this forum about who PIF are, before I roll out the whataboutery, I appreciate nuance and we can leave that there.

Sports Direct 'sponsored' us didn't they? Albeit not on the shirts... They were also owned by the same entity that had the controlling share (100%) in our club, the only difference being the amount that sponsorship yielded, where was the twitter / reddit outrage then? We've signed a sponsorship deal, which I believe is placed at 7th in the league, after finishing 4th, and yet there are some people knocking about crying (not here I don't think) over the 'large sum' and where it's come from, bewildering.

you're absolutely right that nobody gave a fuck. but weren't these "associated party" sponsorship rules only introduced after our takeover?

still, not to excuse the cry babies. they're just green with envy, marra

Besides Champions league football this season I’m not sure what we can provide  that makes us more attractive than Spurs at this current moment.

    Bigger wages? Probably not.

More exciting project? Possibly but it’s fairly nebulous and anything can happen in football.

    Better stadium? Nah

    better training facilities? Nah

    Better squad? On paper, no.

Better city? I’d say so but many would prefer London.

Better chance of finishing in the top 4 next season? I’d say that was up in the air with them being able to focus on the league.

    Bigger global fanbase? No

Better crowd? Yes but it’s not usually key component of a players decision to sign for a club.

  4. not sure I'd be classing the Conference league as a "major" European trophy, like the commentary team were relentlessly banging on about last night. but it's still a trophy at the end of the day, probably on par or slightly beneath the League Cup.

nice to see them celebrating the win tbh. a refreshing change from the same old teams not giving a fuck when they win something!

I know your gesting but given the season we’ve had the additional expense of European games you can forgive our fans for not being in a hurry to get to Glasgow for a meaningless game.

Gotta be the biggest load of BS I've heard.

Never ever seen him be stroppy, but Gordon only here five minutes and he's already thrown his toys out of the pram after being subbed.

Eddie Howe always speaks highly of Saint-Maximin, his relationship with Isak is pretty obvious also.

Who's your inside source Heron [emoji38]

would be a bit of a strange thing for me to make up, but hey, I'm not going to argue with you. believe whatever you want!

  7. most of the discussion has been based around what he offers on the pitch, which is fair enough of course, as that's all we really get to see.

but what if (like some people have suspected all along) he's a total nightmare behind the scenes? regularly kicks up a fuss, ignores coaches/staff advice, and is generally just a moody arsehole? would people be happier shifting him knowing that was the case?

because not to get all ITK, but I've heard first hand (from sources inside the club) that's he's all of those things above and more. he's really not well liked. so I wouldn't be surprised at all if we're cutting our losses, despite what he can do on the pitch. and he's been told we're finding him a new club.

 sorry to make one of those posts, but there you go. don't shot the messenga

Me brother just messaged me his brother in law was playing golf at Matfen yesterday and a Helicopter landed on the lawn. Clubhouse manager said it was Mason Mount. Apparently Newcastle owners stop there when they are up. I don’t think we would pay his wages but he reckons the clubhouse manager had no reason to lie. ??‍♂️

 we need more posts like this tbh
