  1. David Craig spoke to Llambias:

    - Have the greatest respect for Manchester United and the club

    - Very proud of our 'wee club'

    - 50,000 fans every week and one of the biggest away followings in the PL

    - Hope to emulate just a small bit of Man United's success in the rest of DL's time here

    - Most people in the North East know that Alex Ferguson has a fondess for NUFC

Very good comments if genuine. A line should be drawn under this now from our side.

  2. Where's Froggy?  :knuppel2:

Winning a lot of football matches and trophies is one thing, and dishing out disrespectful low blows is another. The man (AF, not Froggy) is as sore a loser as they come. I sincerely hope this is the beginning of the end of their dynasty as an eventful career for their deranged manager comes to a close. Hope they spiral out of control and realize they are NOT football god's chosen people.

  3. Have we not learned not to believe anything that goes on in the media every transfer window ffs? Won't believe anything negative or positive in the press until the window closes and we can tally up incomings over outgoings. At this stage it's agents going to work through the media and editors trying to fill up sports pages. No one knows anything.

  4. I find it incredibly hard to believe he was ranting and raving like that without being abusive. And in any case it doesn't make it right.

Aye, but it could be that Dean didn't send him off or report if there was no actual verbal abuse. Playing devil's advocate.

Looks like you're right. Still think it's bollocks, and doesn't mention the ranting at the linesman either.

Fergie doesn't do these things to get decisions overturned, he does it because he knows the officials are intimidated by him and his club. Works a treat.

  5. Forget the fact it was a tap in, the strikers instinct to even follow that up was brilliant

Ain't no tap in my friend. IMO he skillfully readjusted his hips in order to open his body up and slam the round leather thing into the bedsheet with holes in it. Using his glorious in-step. Mark of a genius. That's how I seen it personally.

  6. thought the rule was the FA can't charge if it was mentionied?

I don't see why that would be the case. It works like that in the case of bookings etc that the referee didn't see, but I can't see how that principle would extend to this. The officials didn't feel it worthy of reporting to the FA, so why would they now take action?

He's got away with it again.

Would it make a difference if he was giving the ref abuse or not? If he was merely protesting, and from what I could tell he was on about Cisse holding Evans back by the shirt, he may have been civil with his lecture to Dean. If he'd given him abuse in any way, he could well have been looking at a red card and hefty punishment? Dunno like

  7. The goal came from a movement when Ba was out on the wing and Cisse in the centre. Possibly significant.

There definitely should be a less rigid option than 'Okay YOU must play here and YOU must play here'. I don't see why it can't be more fluid. A 4-3-3 but the players able to switch positions as and when.

That said if both are desperate to play central it could throw up some problems and leave one side of the pitch a little bare.

    This is it!

They can close the internet now

  8. Ba will always take a shot before he looks for the pass. It can be frustrating when it's not the best option, but it's only a trait of a natural goalscorer.

Tbh on this occasion he was justified in taking the shot first time. Bigi had found him with a great little ball in behind and he thought to let fly having just conceded the equalizer. He took the shot before he could even look up to see where Cisse was.

Other times though he clearly opts to take a shot rather than pass to a player who is in a moderately more dangerous position. Can't see him not passing to Cisse/anyone else if they were obviously in a much better position than he was.

  9. There was a moment in the first half when Cisse looked fuming at Ba for shooting when he was in the middle waiting for the pass. Would have taken a very good pass from Ba but if he hit him then it was a tap in.

I think it was just after Evans' equalizer

  10. watched disc 1 of this last night.

    the memories!!

had forgotten how s*** Guivarch's, Andersson's and Tomasson's goals were. Maric ffs

Diego Gavilan scoring at Anfield Highfield Road. Chris Bassedas scoring at Everton

Malcolm Allen, John Beresford, Lee Clark, Clarence Acuna, Daniel Cordone, Kevin Gallacher, Tino Asprilla, Ketsbaia, Big Dunc, Steve Watson, Robbie Elliot  :smitten: :smitten:

Had also forgotten how good Stephen Glass was for us. Scored some remarkable goals! And what a blinding player young Kieron Dyer was!!!

Paul Dalglish scored for us :anguish:

  11. Ashley owns the club. He has the final call, obviously.

Not necessarily. He could have a budget and policy set for DL within which he has to work. It's not improbable that DL will then work with Carr and Pardew on the rest. You're probably right mind.

  12. Fergie reckons they deserved to win.

Do you think you deserved to win? Serious question.

I think on the balance of things, your lot being top and us being shit, add to that the fact that we haven't won there for some 30 years, we did deserve the win today. We've not played this well at OT probably since we lost 5-3 a few years ago. Played better today than we did last year when we got the draw imo. Completely dominated the midfield.

  13. As much as I disagree with his sentiment of 'disappointed at Man Utd are c***s comments', harsh reaction to Froggy here.

It's ridiculous. Especially given how well he took the 3-0 last season.

I got tortured, but the forum was f***ing class for ages.

As far as I can remember the 3-0 wasn't contentious in any way, and you didn't have a sniff all game. Had we lost resoundingly today as you had done this time last year, you'd see a different reaction aimed at our inept manager/players etc..

Losing 4-3 at a ground we haven't won at for 28 odd years however is a totally different emotion. You're more than welcome to goad and torture us as we did you, but howay man, a couple of hours to calm down first would've been good. Tbh it was the little poofta in your avatar that hit the nerve more anything. He's an absolute toilet of a player and didn't deserve to score today nevermind scoring the winner. Fair play for changing it.

    No hard feelings.

  14. As much as i hate saying this, i'm much prefer to lose like this than to get beat playing hoof ball and making no chances, being bored out of my head watching Vomit inducing boring stuff.

At least we had a go, not that makes me feel any better. I'm so p*ssed off i've banned the Kids and Mrs Bimpy from the room i'm so moody.

It was a very good game of football with intense emotions on both sides. Football as it should be. I'm just so sick of us being on the losing end every fucking time ffs. When was the last time we won this type of match where the lead changed several times? Home to Leicester (4-3) and away at Leeds (3-2) is all I can remember.

Agree with the sentiment, but I'm fucking gutted. Blood spitting gutted.

  15. A lot of talk of how good the referee was today until the winner went in. Mike Dean had a good game except for the tackle on Anita. Should have been a second yellow. Bit disappointed to see so many comments about how much Manchester United are c***s though rather than praising your own side for attacking like f*** at Old Trafford and almost winning the game.

    That was an incredible match.

    Seriously?

    Yes seriously.

Oh I see. I thought you'd know better than to come on here WUMing when the game hasn't been over for 5 minutes. If you know anything about football, you'd understand why the first reaction of many will be to vent their anger at the opposition they just lost to.
