All West Ham now.

Modric? Difficult to tell, but he's only just got back.
-
West Ham doing much better now tbf.
-
West Ham are one of the worst premier league sides I've ever seen. Like Derby but with added comedy.

Goodness, man. Honestly though that midfield three is ridiculously physical. edit: I'm sure they have black people in Brazil. I heard rumours about some Pele guy.

Nice. It's that kind of stuff that can only help MLS grow.

But it's not bloody FM - which reliable CB was available for 8M? He'd just signed Gallas on a free FFS. You look for players who can improve your first team or improve your squad at a reasonable price and take opportunities when they come. Almost every Spurs fan would have preferred to pick up a better CF than the ones we have at the moment, even for twice the amount VDV came for, but who would that be? To go back to a point that nobody except us Spuds cares about.......Bale at LB can actually be MORE effective at times if, say, Modric is at LM in a 442. When we're on the attack, it becomes a 352 with Bale pushing up and Corluka shifting to the left. It's then harder for the oppo to double-up on Bale (which they always do when he's at LM). Bale at LB in that second formation you cite seems pretty tasty to me.

Wigan started well, we were so casual. Getting back on top now.

Wigan started well.

Maybe if Lerner decides to appoint some dinosaur like Ron Atkinson/David Pleat/Howard Kendall. No chairman is that stupid. I hear kinnear is looking... Please let this happen Can't see it happening, he's too clever. What you need is someone who people respect in the game but who is actually a bit crap, so Lerner's advisors get fooled. Like, say, Rafa? Or that Hull manager, now, what was his name.......

Was alright when he first moved but over the last couple of seasons he is a regular diver, always in this fashion: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/match-centre/article241209.ece/ALTERNATES/gallery-large/Ashley+Young.jpeg Actually his dives are more often like the Harper one - knock the ball past with no intention of getting it then kind of half-jump, leaving your trailing leg for the oppo to run into.

With no manager, no Europe and such a high wage bill they're going to struggle to attract really good players in those positions. Still, I think they could well do without Europe with their squad being so thin. Get a decent manager in and I'd still expect them to get Top 8.
-
Actually that's a point. One good thing is that we don't have any horrible trips to Eastern Europe to worry about. Italy, Spain and Holland ain't so bad.
-
Can't make my mind up on this at all. Get knocked out and do better in the League (as they surely will) or stay in and potentially do well in the Europa?
-
Reckon you're in with a chance of qualification. Will depend on your 3 home games. Would've been ludicrous if you'd been in Pot 2 like. I'd prefer it if there wasn't any seeding at all. You're right though - loads will depend upon the home games, as well as how referees treat Crouch. I've seen European refs give several free-kicks against him in the past for being tall. He'll give any defence trouble on form.
-
And to add to that, we're really not that bad you know. Sure, we froze on the astroturf, but we then put six goals past Young Boys without reply. Hopefully Gallas will provide that bit of experience we desperately need.

Got to the UEFA QFs (i think a while back) then got cheated by Sevilla's ref and got knocked out in the round of 16 the year after by PSV / Gomes. FYP. 1-0 up at theirs and cruising, then the ref gave them an absolutely pathetic penalty. We've actually done all right in Europe - so much so that if Bremen hadn't scored that injury time winner we'd have been seeded in pot 2. I wasn't at all fussed about who we got and I think most Spurs fans are the same. Arsenal got third in their first Group stages and that's what I'd expect us to get. Any better would be fantastic and even if we only manage fourth, as long as we play well and don't get gubbed then I'll be happy. It's just great to be there. As someone said on a Spurs forum, all we've heard from Arsenal and Chelsea (and West Ham etc) has been "You won't beat us. You won't get 4th. You won't make the Group Stages. You won't win in the Group Stages... BEEP BEEP BEEP! Watch out people, Gooners are reversing...". Of course we want to do well, but for pretty much every Spurs fan I know, everything we get from now is a bonus. I feel like a kid again. Getting top four this year is arguably a bigger priority than getting through the group stages (and will be harder than ever) but this is the first time since winning the League Cup that I've attained a blissed-out calm. I'm not going to lose that, even if Inter put 6 past us at the San Siro.

Aye. He's found time to take an unnecessary pop at Wenger and Capello this week n all. Wasn't that whole interview made up by the paper?
-
Konchesky is much more homegrown than Salcido
-
Just watching the Kiev Ajax match. How Kiev didn't score in the first half hour I will never know.
-
Defoe knew that, was waiting for it to be disallowed.
-
Absolutely shitting it.
-
Even with them they're pretty basic if yesterday is anything to go by.

MILES off his line. Miles and miles.

Worst penalty ever.
