Even though Heskey missed his chance, he set it up for himself in the first place by winning the ball & taking the centreback out of the game with his movement. He was much more effective than Rooney strangely.

Just looks to be impeding the games so far, not making them more exciting. All these players are used to the ball having a certain weight behind it. So accuracy in terms of passing/shooting is out of the window.

Just watching highlights now. Forgot how many chances we had. USA were incredibly lucky really. We put the ball across their area dangerously about 5 times. 2 last ditch interceptions, 1 passed everyone, lampard with an air shot on another. Then Heskey & swp through on goal. Rooney inches away from a header. Wasnt meant to be.

Same old story isnt it, we always sit back at 1-0. Was hoping Capello would have disciplined them well enough not to do that, doesnt look like it. Our mentality is always our issue. Same reason we beat platinum stars 3-0. Germany probably would have put 20 past them. They let their egos get in the way and take it easy instead.
