Should've had a pen against him first half aswell. He was better defensively the other day, did alright going forwards again. Need to have defenders who can defend though yeah.

Harsh, could have easily had neither goal given. Stones was just naive, Jagielkas was harsh yeah. Stones is never ready to be starting for England.

Right, well our cbs have cocked that up quite impressively.

Colocinni got a red for less.

    Walker doing well

Good break there, men infront of the ball so Milner floats one in. Rose is creating most of our attacking play.

Need to get Barkley into the game, barely touching it.

This is doing my head in like, i agree to a point about Rooney. But if Vardy was the same age as Kane/Alli him starting wouldnt even be debatable. This impact sub stuff is nuts & seems to be the cliche fast player against tired legs. I also dont get this undertone in football that if you're good at a younger age its more "real" & you have more potential. What matters is whats happening right now. Vardy is a few goals off the likes of Lewandowski & Aubemayang in what was seen as a much weaker side. Yet aye, lets maybe bench the guy. It has to be his age like, must be. He's not been at the top level for as long so its not as "real" or something, maybe give him a chance off the bench. he's come into the premier league late in his career but he's clearly in the form of his life, why leave him on the bench when he's exuding so much confidence right now? What does he have to do to deserve a starting spot ffs? Thats it. Who knows anyway, maybe he'd have made it years ago if given the chance at the highest level. We cant assume scouts spot every single players peak potential everytime. Who knows who we've missed. Maybe Vardy is one who has sneaked in that could've been a great but was nearly missed. His adjustment to the highest level has differed in no way to that of Kane's apart from his age. They've just been given the chance at different ages. Aduriz at Spain seems to have had a similar later breakthrough.

Think as Ian mentioned the last page, there is quite a swell now in the media & amongst fans that he shouldnt be playing. So its more likely that Roy would be going against the tide to do so, which he likely will as we all know.

How has he? Vardy has contributed to more goals, had the pressure & expectation of that new goalscoring record every week & smashed it. At a time when Man Utd had 8 CS in 10 going into that game. Then you have the 30 yarder v pool in key games, he assists the goals in most games he doesnt score like the recent 1-0's they're getting. These are key high pressure matches & he is constantly delivering under far more pressure than Kane has been under. Kane may be the better player, Vardy has faced more this season. Both should be playing together as their attributes gel superbly.

Cant believe Vardy is still underrated by some. He's broken goalscoring records, scored in high pressure matches, he epitomizes leicesters spirit which is helping them win the league. He's shown how good his psychology is again with his first international goal as a backheel & should've had an assist also. He's the perfect remedy to years of our big players having expectation & not delivering. He wont stop delivering when no one expects it. If people categorize him as "Great option off the bench" its absolutely ludicrous. He's had a better season than Kane, who's a guaranteed starter for most now.

Im agreeing with the point you mocked for no reason. Shearer scored against Germany in two seperate tournaments, helped take apart the dutch & got us to a Semi final. He scored in every tournament he took part in even without penalties. Though he took important ones there too yeah. Rooney started well with 4 against Croatia & Switzerland in 2 games, then has 2 in his last 10 in tournaments. How is it crap to say Shearer scored in games that mattered?
  14. Jayson

    England

Both Rooney and Shearer had 1 fantastic tournament for England. Stop talking crap, man. Shearer has 9 in 12 at tournments, Rooney 6 in 14. Rooney got 4 of those against Switzerland & Croatia, you're trying to compare that to what Shearer did at Euro 96? You're the one talking crap, as per.

Given against Sunderland then? Could do with him helping us out.

How can it possibly be up for debate. I read someone else put it in simple terms, Vardy has come on as a sub and put a backheel past the best goalkeeper in the world within 3 minutes. We looked much better once he came on also. Kane & Vardy showed the margins of top class goalscorers yesterday. Those moments win you games.

Deeney has been better than Rooney this season. Though i get the point, the issue is his reputation putting him upfront.

Gonna give Roy the benefit & assume he's giving them less time each for their clubs. So might be Vardy leading the next one & kane as sub.

How much better have we been since Vardy? Literally just having the two strikers. Opens up space for the rest.
