Everything they've done so far regarding this has been to do with ripping the piss out of the fans IMO. Fuck all else. Just look at the stuff they've put on the official site, Facebook, pictures they've used (and now changed), the timing and so on. I'll be fucking amazed if any sponsor comes in, and sad as it is I'm resigned to hoping they do. It's just a massive power trip imo, put the fans back in their place every time they're beginning to get some pride back.

The way they run the club is beginning to remind me of the plot of The Producers. Seems like they're desperate to knack things up when it dawns on them things are going well.

You'd have thought they'd all post on here, cuz, you know, home of the ASHLEY APOLOGISTZ!!! I can't get my head around it, everyone on my Facebook was calling him a cunt.

There are either a lot more Newcastle fans with their tongue up Ashley's arse than I thought, or their views are far more likely to be aired on the radio. Listened to various shows today and have heard loads saying they're not arsed or it's a brilliant move, not many dissenting voices at all.

Fucking hell, I've just put the Legends on and saw the thumbnail of the picture that accompanies the show. http://assets.gmgradio.com/photo/mini/2011/09/z0glnoemeh.jpg Could have sworn that was a publicity shot for Father Ted. http://assets.gmgradio.com/photo/page/2011/09/z0glnoemeh.jpg Apparently not.

I hope there comes a time when I'm in Newcastle and some div asks for directions to the Sports Direct Arena... Actually that sounds a bit sinister - I'm not going to murder them or anything - I'll just, you know, give them inaccurate directions.

Is Mike Ashley the worst person ever to have been associated with NUFC?

Hang on, someone cried for 2 days when we were relegated? -
Sammy_Ameobi Samuel Ameobi Guess my very 1st game at St James' Park...was also my last!

SSN now, David Craig trying to justify this, "LIVE - SPORTS DIRECT ARENA" in the top left corner. Mint.

The majority of German stadiums are named after brands. Was 14 out of 18 in the top division in 2007, not sure about now.
-
Not saying he was involved like, saying he'll be fucked off at yet another needless PR own goal when he's finally got the majority of fans onside.
-
What was that rumour about Pardew being fucked off with the way the summer panned out and demanding bridge-building PR initiatives from the club to the fans to make his life easier? Hence the open training session, the mission statement, the season ticket deal, etc. If there was any truth in that then you'd imagine Pardew will be fuming at the latest unhelpful development.
-
If they'd called it the Sports Direct Stadium then that would have at least satisfied my alliteration fetish and would definitely have softened the blow.
-
You'd have thought they'd be keeping a fairly low profile after accepting £35m for our best prospect of recent years and spending none of it. There's always something with this lot. FWIW I think a lot of the press will refer to it as this new name, they just refused to call it SD.com@SJP because it was such a ridiculous mouthful.

Ah, they've just alluded to the stadium rebranding thing. -

http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/standard-sport/football/article-24007829-defy-fifa-play-with-a-poppy-england.do Personally I think it's a load of fuss over nothing. I didn't think anything could be as dull as the Terry story this week but I've been proven wrong. Also, what if - for whatever reason - a player didn't want to wear a poppy on their shirt? I'd think that was fair enough, we have a freedom and democratic view in this country. Regardless of this though, they would be shafted by the media and football fans. Well aye, they'd get fucking slaughtered.
