  2. You can cherry pick whichever statistics you want. Another one is that there has been at least 1 English teams in 5 of the last 6 European Cup finals. And most English teams treat the Europa League like a total inconvenience these days so what you're saying proves very little. No it doesn't. Prove it hat English teams treat it as nothing. As this season both Liverpool and city got knocked out playing their full teams. Those champs league statistics shows dominance of top 4 especially man utd in that time. Fact is though, the premiership is not the full hurrah many think it is. It is one of the best but it isn't certainly the standout league many think it is. Again you're choosing to ignore certain things, such as how ridiculously dominant Barcelona and Real Madrid now are in the Spanish league. The top 6 in England is pretty f***ing good if you ask me. Barcelona are just streets ahead of anyone at the minute though. Yes but again you are just looking at the stats regarding the champs league. The uefa cup for me is a measure of how the league is past the top 4. Real and barca are dominant, but so have Chelsea and Man Utd for which has passed some people by. What is the record of 3rd & 4th in La Liga in the CL? So your basing the strength of La Liga on the clubs that finish 5th, 6th & 7th in that league & then how well they do in the Europa/UEFA cup. Barca & Real blast through that league like Rangers & Celtic do the SPL. While on about the SPL both Rangers & Celtic have got to two recent Europa finals while no teams from France or Holland have is the SPL better than Ligue 1 & Erasdivse? Also you do realise the year Atlético Madrid beat Fulham in the final it was because they got knocked out the CL early doors. Who beat Liverpool in the semi's who had also got knocked out of champs league. Well, this is why you have the uefa coefficient system for countries based upon their teams performances in Europe. This system has just knocked italy's 4th champs league place to Germany for season after as well. England are top of that table, neesy.

The uefa cup for me is a measure of how the league is past the top 4. Real and barca are dominant, but so have Chelsea and Man Utd for which has passed some people by. The gap is far wider in Spain though. Barcelona finished 25 points clear of 3rd place and 34 points clear of 4th. Incidentally Rangers finished 'only' 32 points clear of 4th place in Scotland, a league rightly regarded as the most laughable 2 horse race going. Whereas Man Utd finished 12 points clear of Arsenal in fourth. The Premier League is far tighter and I don't think you can argue that those outside of the top 2 (Man City, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool) are not good teams. I really don't think the UEFA cup proves much at all. The only 2 English teams to have made the final of that competition in the last few years are Middlesbrough and Fulham, who weren't even performing that well in the Premier League at the time but they did choose to go for it.
  4. If there was more money in the Europa League then more English teams might prioritise it higher. Whether Liverpool or Man City fielded strong teams or not, there's a mentality there that it's a bit of a pointless competition and I think that's quite well known.

  7. Well he's playing in the biggest game in the world tbf, I was sitting in me kegs until about 4pm today. Keeping it real. I've rethought the whole thing actually - Wallsend probably had far higher expectations for him than me this morning, so it's probably a draw or something.

  9. Surely they could have done with bringing Berbatov on around now (along with Nani).
  10. It was interesting what Neville said before the match - that Ferguson says next to nowt to the players before the game and does his team talk 2 hours before the match and basically lets the players get on with it after that. Wonder how that compares with other managers.
  11. Give them a touch of the ball you big bullies.
  12. Wish they would just fucking hoof it, the skilful pricks.
  13. Man Utd looking really quite world-weary now.
  14. Aye. Masters of the Universe. Loved it as a bairn, I've even got the DVD. Courtney Cox is looking ropey as fuck in it as well. Dancing in the dark days. BarackObama fact: when he was really, really young he used to go "Ow me back, ow me back". We'd be like "what?" and he'd say "I want to watch Ow me back". We didn't know what he was on about and were forced to ignore him. A few months later we happened to watch He-Man and got to the end bit with Skeletor in the lava or whatever saying "I'll be back" to the camera. Barack starts shouting "Ow me back, ow me back!" We were like "Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh".
  15. im in, .....Man yoooo Same. I love the way Barcelona play but I don't hate Man Utd as much as I used to and I can't help backing an underdog. In truth I just hope it's a good game and not a complete walkover.
  16. Put a few such bets on at Paddy Power (practically free cos I won another tenner on DOND): Champions League Matches Barcelona v Man Utd - Wembley Stadium 28-05-2011 19:45 Scorecast D Villa, |Barcelona| 2 - 1 @ 45/1 Champions League Matches Barcelona v Man Utd - Wembley Stadium 28-05-2011 19:45 Correct Score Draw 3 - 3 @ 80/1 Champions League Matches Barcelona v Man Utd - Wembley Stadium 28-05-2011 19:45 Correct Score Barcelona 4 - 2 @ 90/1 Champions League Matches Barcelona v Man Utd - Wembley Stadium 28-05-2011 19:45 Scorecast W Rooney, |Man Utd| 2 - 1 @ 50/1 Champions League Matches Barcelona v Man Utd - Wembley Stadium 28-05-2011 19:45 Scorecast L Messi, |Barcelona| 3 - 1 @ 55/1 Champions League Matches Barcelona v Man Utd - Wembley Stadium 28-05-2011 19:45 Anytime Goalscorer R Giggs @ 8/1 Champions League Matches Barcelona v Man Utd - Wembley Stadium 28-05-2011 19:45 Last Goalscorer D Villa @ 8/1 Champions League Matches Barcelona v Man Utd - Wembley Stadium 28-05-2011 19:45 First Goalscorer Pedro @ 9/1
  17. Yeah. "If Barcelona win this match in normal time, Paddy Power will refund all losing 1st/Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast singles on the match".
  18. Well if it goes to extra time or pens you're obviously snookered, not sure if I'm missing owt else. I'm better at DOND tbh.
  19. I swear he hates Redknapp, just watch the 2 of them interact.
  20. Man Utd's first team seems to have changed a fair bit this season like. Fair play to Ferguson as he seems to play players based solely on form, but I'd have been very surprised if someone told me a few months ago that there'd be no Nani in first 11, no Berbatov in squad, and Giggs and Carrick in CM, etc for this game. Even Owen on the bench is a bit of a shock as far as I'm concerned.
  21. My old housemate had a similar experience on one of the games on the lottery website. "Eeee look at this I've won shitloads" *small pause" "Aww nar fuck it, it's all gone". Aye, I'm down to £16 from £62 now, but still. I withdrew £100 with no stake, nice one. I think my highest after I withdrew £100 was about £81 and now I'm down to 22p. But still I'm impressed I had the restraint to withdraw anything at all.
