De Gea will be one of the best keepers in the world.

Their fault. They should have included "don't concede soft goals" in their list of things he isn't allowed to do.

He's such a legend, personally I think he's overrated as a footballer but I hope he has a successful career so we can enjoy all the craziness for years to come -

I heard Redknapp say that as well, unbelievable. Man, everybody remembers Maradona's loan spell at Bedford

They are the absolutely richest club in the world, with one of the best squads around. We aren't talking about a midtable English team that overachieves.

We are living in a Nani-state. The pun potential of a forward line with both Nani and Bebé ("Baby") were priceless. I'll never forgive SAF giving up on him.

We almost impeached Laporta after two trophiless seasons, two!!! We big club fans are whiny spoilt childs for the most part

Aye, we did it like yourselves and it hasn't helped our fitness at all. Atrocious planning but our contract with the MLS to do these tours is up this season and we will probably ask to change the way it is organized. Pep has been quite vocal he isn't happy with it.

Not sure even SAF could do better with Clichy. Subbing in Gareth Barry for a striker when you're level is a terrible decision. Add to it that this is afterall a tin pot trophy and you can afford giving the crowd a bit of spectacle, and it really compounds what kind of manager he is.
-
Good result, surely one more step towards Mancini getting sacked and awarding all those riches to a manager that will make better use of them.

Hardly. Walked. Then came back soon after. Bah, spoilsports

Balotelli stormed off through the tunnel

Shit, this game is great.

They can make like 6 subs or something like that, can't they?

I really look forward crossing swords with City in the CL.

Those attempted long throws were f***ing awful, like. Had me thinking though, if the ball went in from a throw in, untouched, would it be a goal? IIRC, the ball isn't considered to be in play until a player touches it, so it wouldn't count.

Citeh to win, I reckon. Meh, Agüero not starting. Guess it was to be expected.

Scored a cracker in the World Cup.

Well Green would be our best goalkeeper if he came (he's just pulled off very smart save for West Ham as I type) and miles better than Harper. Problem is that he would get in the way of our youngsters. I used to rate Green, but he seems the quintessential confidence player. Reminds me of Gomes regarding the incredible saves/awful clangers ratio. Personally I don't think you have an urgent need to improve on your goalkeeping and at least Krul (I haven't seen Forster play much) looks a better prospect.
-
Unless I'm unaware of something regarding your young keepers, this makes absolutely no sense. If the club wants an experienced head besides Krul or Forster you could stick with Harper, to be frank.

By the way, for some reason the Madrid media are pushing hard for having a preseason game every year between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona. Like we didn't have enough of them last season or this season (4 guaranteed before CL/Copa). Then they complain when people call us the sunny SPL.

It's been said that Sahin will pair Alonso in the middle when he's fit, and Lass has been deemed surplus to requirements. He´s been using Cointreau Coentrao a lot in that role too. Apart from him being Portuguese still don't really know why they bought him. Not that he's not a good player but I thought Marcelo was one of their standouts last season and if he plays in the Di Maria role they could have got better. Can't imagine him in DM/CM. He's been played in the Di María role too, but Callejón seems to have been preferred to cover for Di María (who was still on holiday). On last year's form you really can't dislodge Marcelo, to be frank.
-
Take into account that we went to the last El Clásico with an 8 point gap, which pretty much made the game irrelevant. I really think consistency on beating everyone else is what's going to win or lose the title.
