  1. Just looking at transfermarkt's list of out of contract players this summer, there are a few that would definitely improve us (realistic could be debatable though)

    Zabaleta

    Jesus Navas

    Lucas

    Clichy

    Ledley

    Kirchhoff

    Balotelli

    Thiago motta

    Miguel veloso

    Honda

    Ivan Ramis

    A Carr recommendation

  3. I just really hope that if it is only the language barrier that's stopping him from being in the side that they sort that out and give him a chance before getting rid. It was so annoying to see Yanga-Mbiwa get Pardewed and then shipped off so soon when others that maybe listen and communicate better but are distinctly worse players seem to hang around forever.

  4. Defensively last night he looked quite good but offensively he is comical. Only able to hit the ball either 0 or 100 - exemplified by his lay off to Perez in the box where he absolutely hammered it at him from about 10 yards away instead of just rolling it into his path.

  5. He's a good player, better than what we have at present and given the way he left last summer I imagine he'd feel pretty guilty if he was to come back and would want to win over any negative feelings towards him through effort on the pitch.

Footballers are mercenaries looking out for themselves, he owed us no loyalty. Yes, leaving to go and play for Alan fucking Pardew instead of Rafa is like ditching your Victoria's Secret model in favour of dry humping the gap between sofa cushions but he was chasing the Premier League and given the signings Palace were making last summer you can't blame him for thinking they might do something of note this season.

It hasn't worked and if he wants to come back we should be happy that we have a good player regardless of how or why he left in the first place.

  6. Don't hold anything against the guy whatsoever (apart from thinking he should have resigned after Saturday), was clearly well out of his depth and took the job knowing that with his recent record he wasn't going to get anything better.

The club is the problem and at least now they have acted decisively. I wouldn't put it past us to use this opportunity to move in the right direction and take a massive run and jump backwards though, here's looking at you Messrs Pearson, Curbishley & Redknapp.

  7. I was discussing the idea of making teams with the same nationality and wondering how they would stand up over the course of the year, I think a Spanish one would do quite well. De gea, Fabregas, Mata etc and you could make English, French and Belgian teams too - anyone tried this approach before?

  8. Bakary Sako - "I talked to some clubs but when I met Alan Pardew, I felt a good feeling between him and me and that's why I chose Palace.

"He plays attacking, attractive football so it should be good to play here and score some goals, that's why I came to join him."

    :nope:

Saw that earlier... Sako must be thick as shit or he hasn't got a clue what Pardew is about. The bloke destroyed Ben Arfa because of his lack of defensive attributes. Attacking and attractive.. yeah right.

  9. Penniless footballer Nile Ranger goes to war with Blackpool to get out of £150-a-week contract

The rebel claims to have been left skint after his basic £150-a-week wage and a £33-a-minute playing bonus was reduced following the Tangerines' relegation

Nile Ranger is at war with Blackpool to get out of his low-paid contract after an astonishing series of snubs which have left him broke.

The striker, 24, finally returned to training this week only to be immediately bombed out by new boss Neil McDonald.

Ranger was then also thrown out of the club's hotel despite Blackpool originally promising him a week's free accommodation.

Blackpool have made it clear they want rid despite taking up an option this summer to extend his contract after Ranger went AWOL last November.

But Ranger claims to have been left virtually penniless after his basic £150-a-week wage and a £33-a-minute playing bonus was reduced after relegation

The striker has also recently been mourning the death of two pals, including musician Lukey Maxwell, in London in separate stabbing incidents.

Ranger even had to ask League One Blackpool for an advance just to pay his petrol money to drive back to the club from the capital this week.

But his request was denied and despite their actions, Blackpool still retain his registration as they hold out for a fee for him.

It the latest row at the Bloomfield Road club where chairman Karl Oyston is serving a six-week FA ban for misconduct.

Ranger was determined to make a go of it at Blackpool this term after fitness training with fellow striker Carlton Cole and other athletes.

A source told MirrorSport: “Blackpool took up the option to extend his contract for a year which they didn't have to do.

“Now they have told him he will not play for them again and to find another club.

“The manager has told him to go home as he will not be in his plans this season.”

Ranger agreed a cheap deal with Blackpool last term in a bid to play again after being sacked by Swindon.

Deserves it all. Has had it coming for a long time.

Could not have happened to a nicer bloke.
