He's come out and publicly stated he's not just going to jump into a random job, it has to be the right fit for him, and for the club.
-
You realize one bad season doesn't make a bad manager right? Klopp left Dortmund when they where bottom. Guardiola finished 4th and trophy-less in his first season at Man City. Pochetino got sacked at Spurs with them in the bottom half. Hell Rafa failed in China. Managers are allowed the odd blotch on there CV.

As I have said a few times, I personally think Howe would be a good and solid appointment, he plays a decent brand of football, comes across really well, clearly wants the job, and has a decent acumen in the job he did with Bournemouth, which people seem to weirdly sleep on. I've always thought he would be a decent fit here under the right owners, even when he was still at Bournemouth. I also believe he is a coach that could evolve and progress with the club as we hopefully go up the league. I can understand the disappointment of Emery not coming here, he is a top class Champions League manager, but realistically, we're 19th in the Premier League 6 points adrift of safety, there needs to be a bit of a rain check of what we can currently do. Is Howe the most attractive name in the world, probably not, does that make him a bad appointment, not in the slightest. Also, the club have clearly taken there time to interview a lot of different managers to make sure they have the right fit in place, and if Howe was the one to be at the top of that list, then he clearly has something about him, and that itself should put a few peoples mind at ease.

Ditto, if a month ago you'd have said that the takeover would be approved, but we'd be in the Championship at the start of next season, i'd have bitten your hand off.

Or because his mother was terminally ill in hospital, and he admitted he couldn't deal with the emotions that that entails, along with travelling continuous to go and see her, as well as being away from family for 80% of the time on his own.

With Jake on this one.

To me that always seemed like it came from Fonseca's side and not the club tbh. What's not to say the club where impressed with the vision and the way Howe interviewed?
-
Quite the opposite actually
-
Is there anything to suggest Howe doesnt? By the sounds of it hes been interviewed several times, not sure why someone would do that if they're not interested in the job. Also if the club have done there homework, been careful and wanting to make sure the appointment is correct, the Howe would have had to have impressed during them discussion, and if its Emery as first choice and Howe as backup i'm more then happy with that to be honest.
-
Is it literally just Ballague that has the negative scoop? Isn't his record sketchy, or am I making that up? Emery himself said he hasn't said no to us just 8 hours ago.
-
Again, he got Bournemouth from League two with 17 points deficit, to the Premier League and stabilized them there, within a decade, i'm not sure how people can knock that achievement. Personally think he'd also be a good fit, hes young and could grow with the club in the coming years, and plays a decent brand of football. Emery was my number 1 choice for what its worth, but just think the disrespect Howe gets is massively unwarranted.
-
He got Bournemouth to finish 8th? Not sure how that not considered an overachievement like Also mate the debate that one bad season makes a bad manager, its so short sighted and doesn't have any context.
-
I really don't get the weird hatred for Howe from some in here
-
There really is a plethora of top class managers in the League at the minute. Klopp, Guardiola, Tuchel, Conte, Rafa, Emery (hopefully), Rogers, Potter, Bielsa hell even Moyes is doing a class job.
-
Fucking great appointment that if it happens
-
@Rich You're so anal
-
Not sure thats a clear goal scoring situation.

West Ham beating Villa, crap keeping.
