  1. We haven't given young players a chance though. We gave Sterling a chance because we haven't got any other wingers. Barkley was effectively used as a typical "we're losing, sling an attacker on" sub. Shaw has about as much WC experience as Flip.
  2. 2 World Cup games, which we've been preparing for for 2 years. We're all mental, lads.
  3. Ian What else are we supposed to judge our team on, other than, you know, the fucking World Cup?
  4. I think we do tbh, not to win it but certainly to do far better than we ever do. We just never look like a World Cup side and always flatter to deceive. We're really lacking in certain areas, namely right back and left wing, but we've again approached a major tournament without any sort of plan.
  5. Regardless of whether or not the players we're bringing through are as good as the other major nations are, the squad we could have had at this World Cup is definitely good enough to have done more than "show some encouraging signs" against Italy. I like Roy but he hasn't managed to get this side playing together at all, we looked alright when we managed to feed the front line for about 10 minutes on Saturday, then Italy pretty much said "fuck you" and shut us down, nothing much since.
  6. Aye, we're a bunch of also rans and have been for a while. There's absolutely no reason that a country of our size as passionate about football as we are should be shit at the sport like The FA burning needs burning to the ground. EDIT: I'm typing like an absolute spacker tonight like, time for bed.
  7. The nation doesn't mostly hate Suarez ffs People will obviously pick up on things, like when he's racially abusing players and biting people, ut you would expact that was more of a human being thing, and not and England thing.
  8. Aye. They weren't exactly dazzling against us but they comfortably controlled the game bar the odd moments of pressure we applied in the first half. Effectively just packed the centre and let that right mid rape Baines.
  9. What have you seen to suggest they're not very good? Genuine question, I don't really take much interest in the qualifiers tbh.
  10. I don't think the odds of us having the opportunity to go through are that large in all honesty, I just cannot see us beating Costa Rica by more than 1 goal if that's what it comes down to.
  11. We really, really need a dominant central midfielder to pop up from somewhere in the next 2 years like.
  12. https://www.google.co.uk/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=china%20captain%20jacqui%20oatley&safe=off never notice that.
  13. She used to commentate on MOTD and was absolutely horrible. So much so that in some cases my weekend was literally ruined because of her.
  14. Still haven't forgiven her for what she did to my Saturday nights.
  15. Atrocious 'trash talk' ensues fordays, weeks, months, yearsever Sounds lush
  16. We just need to pray Luis Suarez feels like setting someone ahad in the opening minutes. The possibility is probably quite high.
  17. Costa Rica will probably beat us tbh. Certainly cannot see us tanking them.
  18. So what happens if the USA progress further in a WC than us? Does the economy collapse or something?
  19. This. Gerrard literally contributed NOTHING in two matches apart from giving goals away. Diabolical decision to start him in both games. He's a heartless t*** who is no longer the leader he was years ago. You're talking about the bloke who's just captained Liverpool to a 2nd place finish in the Premiership though. Starting Barkley or Wilshere ahead of him changes nothing, England still don't control either of the opening games. Captaining Liverpool to 2nd place is a bit misleading. Liverpool had a whole squad around Gerrard who were good enough to win with or without him. In my opinion you could have taken Gerrard out of last seasons team and they still would have achieved just as much as they did with him. With Henderson playing there is no really need for Gerrard. Yup. You could also look at it in another way, in that he actually LOST Liverpool the title with a few bottling performances towards the end of the season, brilliantly and beautifully culminating in the slip. You could like, but captain or not you sort of cannot deny that he was one of the best central midfielders in the league
  20. Dandruff is eating his brain. Seriously though, I was f***ing impressed at how small he became when Suarez got infront of him. Goalkeepers are supposed to make themselves bigger, but he kinds of puts his body into position to get even smaller. I'm seriously amazed. It's like a hockey goaltender throwing away all the protection right before someone comes one on one. How do you manage that? I thought the exact same with both goals, re him somehow becoming smaller Terrible goalkeeping on both accounts. Take nothing away from that horrible little majestic bastard though, I hope he controversially takes them to the final for the laughs.

Starting Barkley or Wilshere ahead of him changes nothing, England still don't control either of the opening games. I would have played Barry (on this season's form) ahead of him. As in, in his place. Barkley would play further forward. Barry is a bit more mobile, and is a much better tackler. Henderson's distribution and link up play was very good, and with Barkley driving at defences, it would have given the forwards a chance at being involved in dangerous attacking situations. Fair enough, I don't know what I would have done personally. Pre tournament I would have been happy with that lineup and system but in hindsight it wasn't right at all.
  22. I honestly didn't think Rooney was that bad First half he was missing for a lot of it but 2nd he was the main player driving us forward on a number of occasions. Not brilliant but to suggest he was "bollocks" is absolutely mental.
