  1. He gained his fame writing articles defending the concentration camps during this conflict, describing them as "causing the minimum of suffering" whilst there was outrage at home due to the rate of fatalities there. (Only for the white Boer's though, fuck the black South African's). I mean given we were talking about Imperial Japan and their forced labour camps, can we at least acknowledge where they got the idea? And again, was my assertion that the British used them again in the 50’s in the Kenya incorrect?
  2. It’s not bizarre at all if you’ve ever read a history book. A quick google of Churchill and the Boer war would provide you of everything you’d need to know.
  3. Well by that rationale we should be equally horrified by the Union Flag then, given the tactics utilised by the Imperial Japanese were largely lifted straight from Mr Churchil's South African campaign. And we kind of lose all right to complain, given what we as a nation then did again a decade after the end of WW2, in Kenya during the Mau Mau uprising.
  4. Can use these to bring the transfer window to a close, if it ever opens 😂
  5. This is the problem with trying to equate business with international reach and household budgets though. Yes they make annual losses, but they’re in the majority appreciating assets, which is why US hedge funds are falling over themselves to invest in clubs over here.
  6. I mean it’s all down to their stunning intellect, rather than the fact their entire country is an oilfield obviously
  7. At this point it feel like they’re acting like the Old Firm north of the border, just hoover up all players who might be good in order to stifle competition. They honestly should’ve been nailed to the wall by the PL for the irregularities found from Roman's era, never mind the shit they’re pulling now.
  8. I guess it’s significantly easier to get players that would improve us when we were sitting 19th in the league or had just finished 11th, than it is when we’ve secured CL football 2 years out of the last 3
  9. Dunno about you like, but I’d quite happily double my money to do less graft
  10. Ooh ya fucker that’s a hit, we’ve been made to rue our missed chances when we were utterly dominant. We’ve not had the same control in the middle since Scott has gone off injured
  11. Cracking header from the boxhead there tbf
  12. I didn’t know who he was and it showed him in a Leeds top when googling him 😂
  13. 2nd of September, up until then there’s always a chance to do business
  14. Think Leeds have a potential cracker on their hands with Cresswell like, he’s really impressed me so far this tournament
  15. They were the same last summer, it’s just reactionary bollocks. They did a podcast claiming the Suadi's had lost all interest and were going to withdraw their investment after Ashworth moved on, followed by an episode a few days later declaring they were all back in big style after Mitchell was announced. There seems to be an absence of anyone in their roster of presenters, capable of taking a step back and looking at the big picture. I guess it's just the content creator way now, everything is either utter terrible or utterly brilliant, god forbid something might be somewhere in the middle. But I guess that doesn’t work for engagement, so we have to live in made up binary position world, completely devoid of nuance. Needless to say after several weeks of not making it through an episode due to the negativity, I binned off my Patreon subscription
