Pretty much. Mike loans the money to SJH Ltd, who actually buy the club. Now this loan has been added onto the club's debt, to be paid back to Mike. Would make sense as to why we've not spent much. Of course the main problem with us doing this as opposed to Man Utd (who weren't very happy with the Glazers take over anyway) is that we don't have nearly as much money coming in as they do, resulting the net debt growing while the St James Holdings debt is being paid back. Completely agree, I think the whole Barton fiasco backs that up as well. He was clearly willing to play him if he stayed, and wanted him in the team, whereas Ashley and Llambias wanted rid.

I'm sure that's exactly how the phone call went. neither of us knows, would you care to offer a more likely account of the negotiations? given what we were told by golfmag and what's actually been going on since he arrived. I don't have a clue how it would've gone, I never claimed to. I just sincerely doubt that your account of it was accurate. Isn't the most important thing that the manager gets us good results, which he is? He can't be held responsible for not being given money to spend and the incompetency of those above him.

On the subject of Bolton, they've brought on Wilshere and Sturridge really well in the past two years. I think they'll do the same with Kakuta, good move from Chelsea sending him there imo.

6. The signings we made have all been good ones imo, however we failed to get a CB or striker in. If we'd brought in players for those positions I'd have been very happy. As it stands I'm pretty much content.

Krul Simpson - Saylor - Colo - Santon Cabaye - Tiote Jonas/Marv - Ben Arfa - Jonas/Marv Best/Ba Against some teams I'd consider Ba out wide. Still got the options of Obertan and the youngsters or playing a 4-4-2 rather than a 4-2-3-1. We've still got options despite the joke of not signing a striker in the transfer window.
