  1. So he'd leave being a squad player at Spurs to be one here?

Well in all honesty i've never really seen Marveaux play so he would be higher up in pecking order and i've only seen Cabaye play once and i'd have Kranjcar ahead of him.

Definitly think he would improve our team, he's a class act.

Obviously could turn out Marveaux and Cabaye are both better but i'm not in a place to judge.

  2. Speaks volumes that nobody will take his bet tbh.

UV or Pip?  I'd be more inclined to take Pips but neither are entirely dependent on the activity of NUFC so it's f***ing nonsense - last year was widely recognised as an anomalous year for a lot of teams and based on that, if we stick as we are in the market, i reckon we'll end up doing worse despite having some better players on the books

I was referring to UV's proposal FWIW. Quite comical watching people try and squirm it into something else.

Because the bet being proposed is laughable at evn odds. Even with the better attack we currently have does not mean to say we will socre that freely like last season the way things fell into place was awesome. UV knows he hasn't a leg to stand if he accepts anyone's revised proposal.

  3. Well if UV believes we haven't improved then it's obviously easy money. I'll do a top ten if he wants, too.

I'm not going to bet on something on here I could get far better odds than evens for on betfair. Anyone taking the bet from me could just lay it off, it's what I'd do. Goals scored isn't a bet I've seen elsewhere, so it's one I'll make here.

Claims have been made that we will have or already have a better attack than last year. All this wishy washy oh we'll spread the goals around more but might not score as many, the attack will be better though, is just an excuse for a lack of conviction. What's going to happen to this super new attack, are they going to get a couple of goals against the poorer teams and then sit back on the lead? Why aren't they going spank some teams like last year, especially if they are more able to score against better teams? Remember we only had a decent striker for half the season last year, we've got rid of Nolan who was holding back the free flowing attacking style of play, and there's more players to come. Why would that mean we can't score more than last year unless people are underestimating what those players added to the team?

  4. Make it a points thing and I'm in.

We have a better team, a team that will get more points.

I would definitly be up for a bet regarding points, i think we will better last year's tally but goals wise that would be a tough ask. Real Madrid scored more goals than Barca and never won the league...are Madrid are better attacking team then Barcelona? I think not....

  5. I have a small wager for the people who are convinced we already have a better attacking team than last year. £50 says we wont score more league goals this season than last. If you don't want to bet the whole amount I'll take smaller bets from different posters up to the £50 total (min £10). With 2 more quality attacking players to come in on top of the already improved team it's easy money, so be quick otherwise I may decide to stop taking bets once I see just how good they are when we sign them. :harry:

Put your money where your mouth is and PM me your offers.

Even if we do have a better attacking force now, that doesn't mean to say we will score more goals next season. Can't really compare just off goals. I personally don't think we will beat last years total, we were involved in some very high scoring games throughout the season.

  6. Niko Kranjcar expects to be loaned out if Modric stays at Tottenham.

Always fancied Kranjcar for the toon, still only 25ish and a classy footballer.

Suprised Kranjcar has sat around this long at Spurs without making any real attempt for a move. He was wasted last season after VDV came in and it's cringeworthy when Jenas comes on instead of him when they need a goal.

  7. I actually reckon he'll do ok there.

Yeah i don't like Cole and wouldn't be overly impressed if he signed for the toon for around 7 million but Stoke is the kind of club where he will look like a threat with their style of play.

  8. I think if you look at the whole squad it's clear that we are using the Carroll sale to good effect.  Besides, there is still ages left in the window...

I'm with you, but for some reason people are freaking out because there's been a lull in our activity.

I really think if we'd signed the players we had more recently, spaced them out more or spent more on them, people would be loving our transfer dealings so far.

It's not that in my case, I am pretty happy with how we have acted quickly so far, the reason I'm now moving into a more cynical frame of mind is that for whatever reason our search for a striker doesn't seem as urgent since the Gameiro knock back. The Erdinc deal has stalled supposedly due to a dispute with his agent despite the fact we've been publicly shouting how much of the Carroll fee has gone to paying agents of other players we've signed this summer. We've cooled our interest in Long according to the journos and according to the same sources we are not interested in anyone else. It seems a fair conclusion to draw that we may well not get another striker if that's close to the truth.

So many ifs, buts and assumptions in that though, it's almost farcical.

If they don't sign another striker then they'll deserve a bit of criticism, but they don't deserve any yet IMO.

I think it swings both ways really, i am on the side of the fence that is currently happy however i can see where the people who are unhappy are coming from.

They moan and kick up a fuss at the lack of signings in the striker department and they carry this on then suddenly we sign Long and Erding in the last few days of transfer window, them fans aren't going to lick ashley's arse and forgive ashley for making them moody c***s all through the summer.

On the othe rhand if they kick up a fuss throughout and we fail to sign anyone else but our current crop, Mike Ashley isn't going to give a flying a s*** about what we think and how depressed and angry we are at the lack of signings.

There's not much we can do at this present moment excpet look at what we currently have, weigh up where we currently stand and just have faith in the fact there will be more signings to come and not too much loss going out.

  9. Ba                                Subs: Harper Williamson Kadar Gosling Marveaux Best Shola

    HBA

    Jonas

    Cabaye

    Tiote

    Barton

    Enrique

    Colo

    Taylor

    Simpson

    Krul

That's a rough guess of where we are at and it's certainly better than what we previously had. I think we are in a good position at the moment and no big reason to panic just yet but we would certainly need to get in a couple of more solid signings and obviously replacements if Enrique/Best leave. I'm certainly happy with what we have done so far though as long as we are still trying to push ahead for new signings.

  10. Best decision that Bruce has made in ages, if that article is correct. Cattermole is far too young and far too hot-headed to be good captain material, removing him from the armband is absolutely the correct choice.

 What I was thinking while reading that tripe. If O'Shea is going to be handed the captaincy it'll do them much better than keeping that jumped up prick in there.

John O'Shea is hardly inspiring...surely they have someone more influential than that pan faced cunt?

  11. Lovenkrands is the worst of the bunch like, can't believe we haven't just released him!

We need to sign two more strikers imo, i think Ben Arfa will be considered more of a striker for us than a wide man, can see him playing off Ba if injuries occur or on a more regular basis if we don't sign anohter striker which is possible.
