Relegation the first time round. Pardew. Attending three FA Cup 3rd round matches in a row and seeing us crash out each time. Brighton 2-0 was a real highlight. Relegation again. Without defending Bruce, because trust me, I don't rate him at all, I'm going to play Devil's advocate here a bit. As you've said, Gayle doesn't thrive on long balls to his head and never will. We can all see that, so surely our players can? Why don't our players take some initiative and sack off Bruce's instructions and play it to feet/through balls?
