Man, I really don't understand how the Iraqis are so good at football.

Simple. They've always been good in football in Asia. It's there number one sport and kids play it in the streets as early as 3 years old. They eat and breath football.

If Iraq was a normal country without any wars they would have even reached higher level but non the less with all their problems for the last 30 years they still can nurture some talent.

Even if we had bid slightly more Dortmund we would still had been disappointed. Lets be realistic and take off the black and white tinted glasses.  Does anyone think we could compete with champions league and dometic league runners up ?

Was watching Pierre-Emerick on YouTube and couldn't not notice Saint Etienne's number 9 who has a great understanding with their number 7 (Pierre). His name is Max Gradel from Ivory Coast who was voted Leeds player of the year 2 years ago. From the videos he seems to provide assists and scores goals too similar style to Craig Bellamy.

Like I said in the Liverpool match thread, the team has a weak spine. The french players are nice to have when everything is going well and rosy, once the s**** hit the fan they would be the first ones to moan and give up on the mess. We are fighting for our live and for that you need fighters in the dressing room, on the pitch with fire in their bellies but they are the last ones to rely on if you need them with you in the trenches.

This team is supposed to be better than last year's team which finished 5th yet we are just about to get relegated. But how is better ? Technically yes but heart wise big zero. This team has very few fighting characters in it. Ok so you mention team we the last time got relegated with and you say we still weny down with manily British players instead. I don't understand how you can compare that era  with the current times completely different reasons and problems. I don't remeber the year before we got relegated we finished in top 5 ? On contrary i remember few shite seasons with passed expiry date players. I never said that if you had shite players but British then you will not get relegated.

Our team has better technical players than I ever remember before but unfortunately lost it's fighting spirite and in this league you need a mix of both.

Where does he think (or you think) he wants to manage next ? All the super big and rich teams aren't looking for new managers (except Real Madrid but I dont think they would go for him). This is a great chance to prove himself in the premier league like Laudrope is doing.

Devils advocate a little here.. Cabaye was dead on his feet and was having a p*ss poor game, Jonas had played in a LB last two games and had done very well there so to choose him to start there was not a decision I had issue with before the game.

Not defending Pardew and think he is to blame for today I just think those two points can be argued either way

 

Jonas starting at left back was laughable.

He played left back for Argentina.He has played left back for NUFC before and has been good before.

If we want to replace Pardew the we need a manager who understands tactics. This means ruling out a British manager as this will straightaway eliminate the long ball and overly physical tactics. Also this means Hellooo to pass and move style which our players will ne comfortable with.

How many times have they even qualified for Europa League ? Moyes is a mid table manager. He may do better one season but nothing special and mostly will end up at the bottom of the first page.

Honestly Moyes is no one. People forget how awful Everton play and struggle in some seasons. They rely on being physical because that's Moyes style like most of the British managers.

Dechamps after the WC.

He was crap today. Took so much time and slowed the game so much when we needed the exact opposite and didn't pass the ball quickly to available players (did you see how long Marveaux was waving for the ball !!!). One of his worst games.

I want to see Pardew shouting and screaming at our players from the touch line when they seem to play like a Sunday game in a park but it is infuriating to me when he stays calm and doesn't push our players on and show them that they need to move a gear up and show more desire.

If we had two Be Arfas and two Marveauxs then it would have made sense to bring the first pair on the first half and the 2nd pair in the 2nd half them we could have had a real go at Befica the whole game. Unfortunately we don't own cloning machine but I hope in the summer we buy at least one more Ben Arfa or Marveaux type of players which means we can make sure we have creativity the whole season.
