  1. How longs left of the 10 year scheme? I was on it but it must nearly be finished.

One more year I think, but I would expect them to renew it automatically regardless, only bump the price. I usually get a letter in February with the payment schedule for the upcoming season so wanted to cancel before that.

Think the first season it was put in place was 2010/11, so yes, next season would be the final season of the original deal.  However, I seem to recall that they reset it to ten years about two or three seasons into the deal, although I can't find anything anywhere to confirm that.

  2. Oh no, it's definitely f***ed then

    Probably.

Let's face it, we've been here before.

Can you say anything about the amount of the bid?

No amounts were mentioned, but all the due dilligence/data room stuff has been done. A bid has been made, with certain issues raised, but people are waiting to act on it.

For what it's worth, this is more or less what I have just been told by someone who I trust, and who has contacts within the club.  A delegation acting on behalf of one of the interested parties visited SJP last week to conclude the process of due diligence.  Apparently, the feeling around the club is that the sale is very much on, subject to the price being agreed.  I know that this is a big stumbling block, but I'm feeling quite positive about it all.

  3. Mackems whining about the pesky 'magedia' again...

"This Newcastle Obsession With Sunderland’s Transfer Window Tells A Tragic Tale"

    http://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2016/9/4/12790910/this-newcastle-obsession-with-sunderland-s-transfer-window-tells-a

No one cares about them anymore. There is no global audience for the Championship, not even a national one for a second-tier team; barely even a regional one.... outside of a Championship team’s local town, city or regional catchment area, no one is reading and no one is clicking and that hurts them

Every word of that sentence could easily be applied to sunderland's woeful premiership tenancy. Good luck on 'Project 17th' you underwhelming, low-expectation having, easily pleased cretins.

The irony of that statement, that is part of a mackem fanzine article twisting about NUFC and its supporters, which has a word count in excess of twelve hundred.

As much as I never think it will happen, but theoretically imagine how grim it is if Ashley actually finally spends money, and it's pardew who oversees it. Could set us back years realistically. Hence why it's paramount we get rid of pardew and concentrate on Ashely afterwards

Absolutely this - The point has now been reached where significant investment is unavoidable without severe consequences.  It would be catastrophic for this to be overseen by a nugget like him.  Investing in a decent manager and giving him the funds to do what is required would finally be a massive step in the right direction.  Of course, all of this will not happen for all the obvious reasons.

  5. ;D

I'd imagine in the unlikely event that McMahon was interested, Ashley would want at least:

    150 percent the club's value

    Debt repaid in full

    A significant stake in WWE

Exclusive WWE merchandise for Sports Direct

Free advertising of Sports Direct at all WWE events

Joe Kinnear as Director of Wrestling

    :mike:

  6. Still haven't received my tickets :(

I ordered two on 5th August and as of yesterdays post I still hadn't received them.  Took a walk up the ground just before lunch and they were happy to issue reprints without too much fuss.  They just asked for my membership number and surname.

That's what I did today. I'd ordered mine at the beginning of August too. It only took a couple of minutes to get new ones printed.

Read of  a few people who haven't received their tickets. Have to say though that I was pleased with how easy it was to rectify the issue.

  7. I'm suprised with everything thats happened over the last two days that people are still wishing Pardew would walk away.

Gone are any pipe dreams of a Laurdup, Benitez, Martinez now. I f***ing dread to think who would be put in if Pardew goes.

Gerry Francis is available tbf  :cheesy:

This is what worries me the most, I saw one report where he said that the club or Kinnear had been in touch.  As it currently stands, Pardew is probably our best hope.  We've really sunk that low.

The Francis link was from the last time JFK was here.

Yep, that was the article - Phew! So pleased I misread/was duped/wasn't concentrating, although the fact that I saw this and thought it was a current story is worrying in itself.  Sadly, I fear the next barmy appointment is only a matter of weeks away, if not days.

  9. Mick Lowes hinted on Radio Newcastle this morning that Pardew is going to do a phone-in special later in the week, possibly to be confirmed on tonights Total Sport.  That doesn't sound like the actions of someone who is expecting to depart anytime soon  :(

  10. Benfica for me. Think we're still very much in the tie and its far from over, and it's the closest we've been to a major trophy for years. Too much has gone into this to just sack it off now, and I'm sure we'll pick up a win and a draw somewhere along the line between now and the end of the season, which would surely see us safe.

Mind, If we do beat the spampers they would still be level on points with Wigan, who by that point would have two games in hand over them. That would surely put the mackems odds on for the third relegation spot.

  11. I am gutted he is their manager as he's a massive favourite of mine!

    ewww

    Was!

Will be again when he takes them down!

Well, we're about to see whether being a total f*cking loon as a manager has a place in the Premier. Been trying to remember if anyone anywhere near as crackers has managed in the top flight before, but I'm struggling. I guess Holloway and Mourinho were unique in their own way, but Di Canio's on a whole different level. It's certainly going to be interesting.

If I were a betting man, my money would be on it all imploding in spectacular fashion, but I've just got this tiny worry that the gamble might pay off short term. Hopefully they'll be on the end of a proper humping today and the feel good factor will evaporate quickly.

Aye, but they weren't self proclaimed fascists who had been photographed doing lots of fascist stuff, caused the resignation of a very prominent board member, and then come up with a meaningless, half hearted, orchestrated statement when it all became a little inconvenient to be a fascist.

I meant them as characters, not the politics issue.....but yes, we've certainly never had a staunch Mussolini supporter managing in the premier before.

  13. Looks like these are bringing their usual thimble full of fans, but amazingly we look likely to sell out most of their vacated space in the away end plus everywhere else as well.

Cracking effort considering there's two far more glamorous games within a week afterwards.

Haven't had this feeling of pure agony in the build-up for a game in a long while.

Near 150,000 Newcastle fans through the door within the next week. Awesome effort.

This...3 x 50k's in the space of a week is pretty incredible
