'I felt we weren't threatening their goal enough. They defended well, Brighton, to be fair to them,' the United boss said. 'We had a good grip of the game (in the first half), we felt comfortable. We just struggled to get more shots on goal, to get more chances. 'I can't really fault my players too much in terms of the commitment they have shown' http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/888731-alan-pardew-has-no-complaints-over-newcastles-fa-cup-exit-at-brighton?

both would be absolutely wasted being outwide. its obvious we will go 4-4-2 when they are back.

No he doesn't and he never has. In Best's defense, he looked sharp in that position against QPR; plus he's (marginally) more likely to score. dont get me wrong I dont blame this on Best. Playing him on the wing or outwide,. its like playing peter crouch or berbatov or andy carroll out on the wings, Best is not that type of striker, Rooney can play wide. Bellamy can play wide. im not talking about the distinction of class in these players but more about their style and versatility. Leon Best is not a wide player for fuck sake pardew you twat.

i got no problem with the formation its the personnel in those position. same at fulham, why the fack is our striker playing on the wing??? that is down to the manager and no one else. gosling, loven, hba, jonas, obertan, raylor santon, can all play on the wings, yet pardew chooses Leon Best. the mind boggles
  5. i got to be honest, as a defender he's actually not bad , that is when it comes to purely defending. positioning heading marking tackling, he's does well, where he fall short is his distribution of the ball. it always smashing it long. he thinks he can put the ball on a six pence no matter where he is on the pitch, that has never happened danny boy son you are not david beckham
  6. can the person started this thread change the title to Danny 'longball' Simpson, please. his passing attributes consist of only hitting it longball and crossing it longball.
  7. lets not be too critical of him, he had a couple of dodgy finnishing, but he's a striker being played out of position yet he still manage to get into three scoring chances. frankly he didnt do too badly if you compare how the other player playing outwide HBA.
  8. doesnt help being played outwide. i too think he still had a better game than shola, and a much better game than HBA,. who also played outwide.
  9. just remembered that HBA was ill with sickness on friday. may had something to do with his non perfomance.
  10. I wasn't at all really - they looked toothless in attack and just looked your bog-standard 'park the bus' second division side. They won the game with one counter-attack and a fluky deflection. It was always going to be a danger given we were never, ever, ever going to score today. It's a damning indictment of our strike-force that we've allowed ourselves to lose that game. We should have been home and dry by the break. If the game was a rematch with Fulham i honestly reckon the result would've been exactly the same as it was last week. we didnt have a strikeforce
  11. to be fair i never cared for the fa cup and league cup. more bothered about our sh1t performances carrying into the prem, if it was up to me id play the reserves for all the cup games.
  12. positive now that brighton won they may make less song and dance about cabaye's filthy kick out negative we played like sh1t! deserve to lose
  13. could be our defence, cant punish one and not another, so they punish neither
  14. cabaye is our roy keane, he's a dirty bastard but he's our dirty bastard
  15. think the rules are, if the ref said he saw it and delt with it, then there will not be retrospective punishment, something like that i think. if he didnt see it,. then there can be a review and ban
  16. no excuse for what cabaye did./ if it was the other way round. we would be up in arms to be fair
  17. does danny'longball' simpson think's he's david beckham or something? try passing the ball instead of crossing every fucking time
