i have mixed feelings about this one. he seems to be a like a warranty signing. meaning he's like a safety net signing just in case a team that can offer champions league football to demba ba, may actually come in during this window or the summer. either way i guess any signing of a striker could have been seen in this way, nothing wrong with safe guarding our future. good things are, cisse is not another big beanpole striker,not saying he's small but he seems to thrive with the ball played infront of him rather than launched in the air at his head. will provide something different to our frontline, will probably be our only striker that can take advantage of any oppositions who like to play the high line defense. cisse seems comfortable to hang on the shoulders of a defender and peel off with pace to latch on to that through ball. none of our strikers gives us that at the moment. all in all seems a good deal. sorry lads i have to provide the annoying obligatory FM pic http://www.fm-base.co.uk/forum/attachments/football-manager-2011-players/112495d1289424586-request-player-screenshot-2011-papiss-ciss%E9-profile_-attributes-.png

Swansea have played a variation on possession football for a few years. was more direct and fun under Martinez, very dour Italian style keep-ball under Sousa and now more of a perfect balance under Rodgers. it just gives an insight of pardews football philosophy. a swansea team that cost a fraction of nufc yet we resort to launching the ball up to two beanpoles every game.

their manager is incredible to get a bunch of players that cost a fraction of newcastle united, consider how frugal ashley is, yet they can still play some very nice stuff all season. pardew watch swansea play and learn . listen to ben arfa when he says swansea play great stuff.

the skysports guys in the physio room said it was serious no ligament damage and he was able to hobble on one foot afterwoods. we still need a scan as a precaution. im guessing he'll be out for around 1-2 weeks max.
