  1. To that end, you were in the south of France earlier this week. Is there any progress on players coming in from that part of the world? “No, I think the situation while I was there was to see the owner and get together, to make sure we’ve got ourselves with a game-plan going towards the final week of window. That’s what we did.” So it was a meeting with the top brass to chew over where you are? “Absolutely.” Team news? “We’re kind of patching ourselves up a little bit from Monday. First game you don’t really want to go down to 10 men with 45 minutes to go. Some of our players have worked a little bit harder than they should have, so we’ve got a couple of tired bodies. Cheik (Tiote) has got a slight strain, so we’re a little bit worried about him and Jonas (Gutierrez) will definitely be out. Everybody else should be okay.” http://blogs.thetimes.co.uk/section/the-game/104800/same-old-story-but-not-too-late-for-newcastle-to-change/?shareToken=21ab8eb1d2d4c6f5e603fe1facf9188c
  2. Don't know, but this so called game plan for the transfer window is great.
  3. Listen to this guy Alan Pardew has revealed that he and Mike Ashley have a "game plan" in place for the closing stages of the transfer window. The United boss indicated that Newcastle must sit tight over the Yohan Cabaye situation with no fresh bid for the player since Monday’s £12million offer from Arsenal. After speaking to Mike Ashley in the south of France this week, he said: “We wanted to make sure we had a game plan going to the final week of the window.” The Cabaye transfer is still hanging over Newcastle and it remains to be seen if he plays against West Ham on Saturday. Pardew said: “We are the sort of club where we aren’t in that bracket where we can’t dictate a transfer. “Sometimes we have to respond because of the position we are in. “We don’t have the luxuries of Tottenham or Liverpool. “So for us, we are poised and waiting to see what happens. “We want to make sure we bring in one or two players who affect our first team.” Pardew also responded to speculation that Shola Ameobi could make a move to QPR. He said: “He’s been a good player at this football club and a great character and leader here. “My position is clear on all players here. “If there is a situation where it is right for the player and right for the club, we will move them on. “In Shola’s case that isn’t where it’s at.” Pardew is also determined to see off West Ham to kick-start Newcastle’s campaign after being drubbed 4-0 off City. He said: “We need to get a couple of results in very quickly, just for our fans. “I feel sorry for them, the whole situation. “They watched the team struggle and then seen the sending off in the game. “Then a player with outstanding talent in Yohan Cabaye not playing is hard to take. “I don’t think it is worth talking about anything else apart from my players here all pulling in one direction to try to get a result on Saturday. “It is a chance for us to have a new start this season. “It was a difficult night on Monday. “There were a whole manner of things going on. “But we are certainly looking to put a smile on the faces of fans this Saturday.” http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/alan-pardew-mike-ashely-transfer-5769697?
  4. Prepared for three days in stopping the opposition. Fucked in five minutes.
  5. Gunners been failing with every transfer attempt. You know what that means with our luck. Cabaye will be their first senior signing.
  6. Good soundbites again from the salesman, can't wait to see Pardew step up his game.
  7. Get French Football ‏@GFN_France 9m Lyon Reserves 4-3 Raon d'Etape. Bafetimbi Gomis scored twice (a penalty and an acrobatic winner) and Jimmy Briand once. #OL
  8. "..ah yeah, so we looked around and as it turns out we had no bargaining power.. could we just have him on the same terms as before?" "Hold the line for a sec Mr. Kinnear, let me go and move the goal post."
  9. Here we go again what? Another round of negotiating marathon
  10. Get French Football ‏@GFN_France The Chronicle: Newcastle are ready to renew their interest in Bafetimbi Gomis they claim. #NUFC #OL here we go again
  11. He's better there than he is any role we have used him so far and in any case.... Remy? Whenever hes been used in the middle its always been with a strike partner and even then its been few and far between. Pretty much resigned myself to the fact that Remy will be injured most of the time, which is usually the way things for us. I am keeping hope that Remy will be our Demba 'exploding knee' Ba rather than our Hatem 'was probably Ben quite fit before he joined us' Arfa.
  12. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/10609682._/? “.. but it’s still 11 v 11. You must always enter every game in the belief that you can go and win it and I’ve always done that. Even last year when we were really struggling for confidence and even personnel we had to enter the game with a game plan and a belief that you can win. “Trust me, we will be looking to do that next season too.” We believe you Alan, more of the same then. Brilliant.
  13. 'Get back, get back' , 'pass it long', 'is your wife pretty?' haha
  14. Thauvin, Remy, Hba in a Pardew starting line-up Chuck Marveaux in it as well, how will that work out
  15. Interesting. Could be something in it?
  16. Get French Football ‏@GFN_France 10m The Newcastle Journal article regarding Thauvin seems to be complete guesswork. Player is in talks with Marseille we can confirm. #OM #NUFC
  17. I reject this talk of peace
  18. Before or after his new sexy 8 year contract?
  19. Some how I don't think he's that bothered lol. Comes across as one of those types who cut their own nose off to spite their face. I think he's embarrassed and was trying to cover his arse - ""The most logical solution would be for us to all return to a little humility in relation to what was said, and hope that he may extend by a year." What does he mean by "extend by a year". Extend what? I'd assume his contract Wouldn't that be ridiculous considering he has only one year left? Extend by another year, come the end of next season they will be back exactly where they are now. yeah but right now unless something drastic changes in the next few weeks he's looking at losing an £8m asset (based on the offer we put in) for potentially nothing come Jan Which is why his statement is even more baffling. Why would Gomis sign an extension now, come January he can set up a free transfer for the summer. Meaning bigger sign on fee , more money for him and his agent. Aulas guy is not feeling good now your right.

  22. theres very few managers about these days who don't do exactly what they're told by the owner above. One of the last who could realistically challenged the owners was Fergie and even he went out of his way to praise the Glazers despite general disgust for them in the supporters. Wengers about the only one left who could challenge his "boss" now but even he doesn't for whatever reason. Is the totally sensible and "living in the real world" explanation of what happens in management. The notion that Pardew, or anyone else for that matter, could survive in management while being openly at odds with his employer is just ridiculous. TBF to Pardew, in some of his veiled comments referring to transfers etc he seems to criticise his employer more than most. Think he would get more respect if he shut up about transfers. We all know he has no major influence. So just let JFK take the blame.
  23. Qpr still dishing out the big wage packets? Have they not learned.

He's a company man, one of the highest paid in the league . He loves it. His bank account.
  25. Maybe, but what would be the result of a manager challenging and falling out with Ashley all the time? He wont be granted a new 8 year contract?
