PSR is shit. Villa have had to flog one of their key players on the cheap to avoid a points fine next season.
..could argue we have had to already with ASM - £35mil I think was cheap

Brian Kerr is spot on - the big clubs used the threat of a Super League to get the rules in play to protect their interests.

Exactly.
Ultimately I get the impression this is going to hinge on the arbitration case. If they find in his favour then we'll have to bite the bullet. If they find in our favour then I'm sure we'll settle but it'll be nearer our valuation than theirs.
I don't see what leg they have got to stand on - Ashworth signed the contract, he clearly understood what he was signing - end of.

Some reports of a bid for Torres. Price looks incredible. Been out of favour at Barca, but I really like him. Think I'd have him over Raphinha as he's good upfront too.

Very happy with this. He’s going to be class.
I don't doubt his ability just his injury record. No getting away from it - it is not the best.

Chelsea is still a massive gamble, if they don’t make top 4 regularly there’s only so long that charade can be kept up for.
Just sell more stuff to themselves - they will find a way

City apparently in for Douglas Luiz (have a sell on clause so can get him cheaper). Would surely end their interest in Bruno?

Be surprised if we can compete with Chelsea next season or anytime in the next few years tbh. Their spending capacity is miles beyond our own.
if they need more cash they just sell another hotel - to themselves

Urgh - Come on City win that case so we can cheat with the rest of them

If City win - the flood gates will open for us. I am past caring about the ethics around inflated sponsorship deals I just want us to go for it.

Sancho anyone? Available for £40 mil apparently

I would love us to try and be bold and go for bright talents - Vítor Roque is just an example of that. Barca are in financial trouble and atm can't register their whole squad.

The only type of younger striker likely to be interested in being a backup to Isak, would be one that is still inexperienced and needs some development e.g. Moukoko let's say.
Having this kind of player as the only option behind Isak is playing with fire.
It is how you sell it though - who says it's playing behind Isak - more like learning from Isak who is arguably one of the best strikers in the world. Align that with Eddie's track record of developing players. I don't think it is that hard a sell - just need the right character who wants to learn.
-
We have to be investing in the future - much like we did with Hall, and Tino - I feel signings like Iheanacho are a step backwards. They don't take us forward - it's more treading water.

Precisely. Iheanacho might not be the ideal replacement, but if he's fit for the season, that means you have a striker who can come in and do a job if Isak is out, and for rotation purposes. Wilson is obviously better but he might only be available for 10 fixtures.
Oh and £15m for Longstaff.
Eddie said the plan was to add to the quality of the squad each transfer window - I wouldn't say Iheanacho falls into that bracket

Both from the Sunday Mirror involving us and Leicester - Longstaff to them for £15m and Iheanacho to us on a free.
Seem to be focusing on free signings

Any rule that encourages clubs to sell their home grown players clearly isn't fit for purpose. The whole thing has become a joke - there isn't any other business in the world that punishes Billionaires investing in their company. It is insane.
