Play style wise, I think it's fine as his profile still works well for us, while adding some different elements. Isak and Wilson are very different but were still both effective in our setup.

Eddie said each transfer window is our chance to build on the quality we already have in the squad.  No one can say that DCL fits into that bracket - Wilson is a far more clinical striker. Nevermind it being a sideways move from Wilson, it's a step backward.  Look I am no scout but surely the club has better prospects that they can target and I am not even talking about the likes of Sesko. Someone of the Pérez ilk that Eddie can mold.  I can't even see how he fits into our style of play.

We clearly bought him for a reason - I know we may need £££ but I would hope we would be trying to sell other players first.  If he is sold - Almiron will not be going anywhere.

Only one winner in all of this - Dan. Gets a huge salary for doing nothing.

Be gutted if we sell this lad - totally seems our solution for RW

I get that but we play enough games to rotate. It is not like Isak is able to play all games, plus they can play in addition to Isak - depends on who they get and their flexibility.  DCL is also a completely different style of player so if Isak gets injured we won't have a like for like replacement.

Sometimes links come up and then the more you think about it, the more you think it makes sense.

You can't compare Gordon and DCL - Gordon was an unknown entity for most but DCL - he has been in the PL for many years and his scoring record/injury record is there for all to see.  And no can deny it is average at best.  I would rather we kept Wilson if this is his replacement as I rate Wilson far higher.

All those saying DCL would be a great signing - guarantee before it was announced he wouldn't be in any of your wish lists of strikers.  And for good reason.

Agreed - what is the point swapping Wilson for DCL.  Would rather keep Wilson - when fit is more prolific.  I just can't wrap my head around this one - very underwhelming.
