Apparently Zinchenko wants to leave in order to play in midfield, would anyone take him for us in that position?
Can he play midfield? I don't think I've seen him play there

Sources have indicated to Telegraph Sport that Newcastle are close to making a breakthrough in their long pursuit of Botman after weeks of negotiations with French club Lille, as well as stiff and sustained competition from AC Milan.
The fight between Newcastle and the newly crowned champions of Italy has not yet been won - and officials in Milan could yet move again to scupper the plan - but there is a growing sense of confidence within St James’ Park that the centre-back will decide to switch from France to Tyneside.
Botman is currently on international duty with the Netherlands and has been careful not to give any firm indication about where he will play his football next season. But it now seems increasingly likely the 22-year-old former Ajax Academy prospect will be a Newcastle player next season.
The deal is likely to cost around £30m, although Newcastle have been haggling over a structured deal which would see them pay around half of that up front and the rest in staggered installments. This has been a feature of Newcastle’s recruitment approach so far this summer and it has made completing deals complicated.
There is a similar sticking point in the deal to sign striker Hugo Ekitike from Reims, with sources insisting Newcastle will not be paying the £25m fee in one lump sum. Newcastle were only paying £12-15m up front in January, a deal agreed with Reims, only for the transfer to collapse on deadline day.
Newcastle had even tried to persuade the French club to let the 19-year-old join on loan for a fee of around £5m, with an obligation to buy at the end of next season.
Reims, though, have insisted on more money up front and, although the framework of a deal is in place, negotiations over agent fees and a precise payment plan remain a “work in progress.”
Wise - spreading the cash -->gets more players in.

I think he’s more than 7/10 most of the time.
Agreed - I'd say 7 has been his lowest.

Great start to the window.

He'll come - wants to play in the Premier League so is using Milan to get the best deal.

Just feels unreal to finally have competent people running our club.

Maxi getting giddy along with the fan base, bring him home.
Bruno putting the big sell onto Howe ha Clearly Paqueta would sign if we put an offer in.

What is really encouraging is that we're targeting players with 'pace'.

He was always just a total professional

I still think he'll sign for Newcastle
-
it's happening

I've posted this a couple of times before but from 6:35mins onwards he talks about playing in the Premier League - says his style of play will be suited to it. I'm confident he'll sign for us.

Him choosing us over Serie A winning Milan would be grim for football tbh.
Why? We're a club on the up who will be challenging for honours - he's the chance to make history with us.
-
I still recon he'll join Newcastle.

Peak age range for goalies and centre backs seems a bit young!
And midfielders - arguably Kevin De Bruyne is at his peak and he's 30.

When you put Fabio Ruiz Newcastle into Twitter, that is literally the only Tweet.
Twitter bollocks thread.
Could be because his name is Fabian Ruiz

If we're paying £26mil for him the club must think very highly of him as they'll be wanting to spend what they can wisely. It'll not be the old Mike Ashley 'punt'.

Is this an example of Clubs inflating the price for Newcastle United?
Newcastle United: "How much for Diego?"
Sevilla: "£38Mil"
Aston Villa: "How much for Diego?"
Sevilla: "For you....£26Mil"

Can’t see how it would impact us other than perhaps a feeder club or selling them Almiron for his trigger fee.
I am thinking longterm - 'when' - not 'if'
we qualify for Champions League and so do Slask WroClaw.
This is a quite a good video explaining the model..
