Begging for this lad to get back up to scratch at some point. Starting to wonder if pre-Matteo was just a purple patch; we've very seldom seen those incredible levels since that run of brilliant results in Autumn 2022/23. Tonali helped him out big-time against Villa imo but today's trio has unbelievable potential as a unit, if Bruno can sort out the maddening sloppiness. It just didn't exist this time last year.
I think sometimes he tries too hard - where before he was keeping things simple.

Atmosphere was great but it was strange to see so many empty seats. Especially Milburn stand.
Were probably stuck outside - not seen it mentioned about the queues outside. Got in eventually but can't be like that each week. The instructions they sent out turned out to be totally wrong which didn't help.

That touch from Tonali for the 5th goal is unreal.

Lovely little assist for Barnes' goal.
Was a peach of a pass

That was some debut - ridiculous I just wasn't expecting it. I thought he'd take a while to get used to the pace of the league.

The lad is clinical

Other than Haaland is there a better striker in the league?
-
He was class today. Tino has much to learn from the master.

Wilson’s goal today was pure filth.
Bruno, Sandro and Joelinton all involved will slick one touch passing - absolutely sublime
The cheeky pass from Tonali in the build up
-
I still can't believe that was his debut game in the Premier League.
-
Tonali's cheeky pass in the build up to the 4th goal was world class.

That was his only yellow, i think there was confusing cos Bruno's yellow looked like it was for him
It looked like Tonali got a yellow for arguing with the ref when he didn't send Martínez off
-
Was hilarious JT constantly getting told off by the 4th official
I've a couple of queries:
- How was Martínez not send off for his foul on Almiron?
- Did the Ref give Tonali a yellow when he was going off? As it looked like he did and but then that would have been a second yellow?
-
Well that was mint
Tonali is just different class - 10/10 what a debut.

Martinelli's assist

This is the problem, people think digital is more convenient until it fucks up and no one can get in.
So long as the cards are recycled I don't see the issue with sticking with the old system. Clearly there is a cost saving in the long run

Arsenal game kick off delayed until 1pm. New ticketing system caused a backlog of circa 35k outside...
Hopefully no issues for us today ?

Now just need Saliba to score

In a sense that if we do well we’re on a roll but if they don’t because of how difficult they are, we’ll turn it around with the games that come after. In that it'll define what is a realistic target. Chelsea and Liverpool can't have a season as bad as last so they'll definitely be in and around.

It is stating the obvious but the 1st five games will define our season.

For most tbf - not many saw a player when he signed. Just the faith that Eddie could make a player out of him. It is early days but he was good today. His best game for Newcastle.
