Gourvennec was a very unusual footballer, seen as an intellectual. He studied at university during the beginning of his playing career, enjoyed philosophy and politics and thoroughly read left-wing newspapers. He was also an exceptionally intelligent and elegant playmaker
The anti-Pards
I'd take him just on that.

I like Newcastle stuff on the Ramble because Pete's one of few in the 'media' that totally gets it re Pardew. (f***ing hates him)
I like Pete and appreciate his stance but I struggle to listen to bits about us on the Ramble when we've been s***, which is often. Usually end up just skipping through discussion of our matches.
I've listened every week but haven't bothered with this weeks for that exact reason.

I could see Steven Taylor in a Carver-like managerial role in 20 years. Oh right, good managers? Never mind.

About as predictable as you can get.

Liverpool can't complain when that's part of the reason they got him in the first place.
Nobody seems to bring this part of it up.

Doesn't seem like enough variation in colors between the three kits. Don't you normally need one that's a completely different color to limit any confusion?

They'd really be tempting me to spend money on them. Cunts.

The same discussion about the England national team in recent years would probably have similar results.
Footballers in general, tbh.

McClaren seems like an easy choice as he probably wouldn't be against Carver and the rest of the coaching staff staying on. I don't think Carver will get the manager job but I don't see the club canceling his contract to allow someone to bring in their own staff either. Fingers crossed that he walks.
