Forgot about this, it's not a real international break is it?
Nah, it's just Camp Cupcake and the friendlies that go with it. Chile's squad is entirely domestic based.
So we could actually win.

It almost sounds like we are trying to get other clubs to step up and outbid us. We must have been in real danger of signing him. Can't have any of that.
-
As I'm bored (and stuck in the middle of a snow storm), I looked up some of his stats... He played 37 times in the league for us. 9 of those appearances he came on as a sub. 11 times he started at FB. He only started 17 games in the league at CB. In those games we won 7, lost 7 and drew 3 (-5 goal difference)
Most of those game that he started at CB were random, he hardly got a run in the side at his natural position. His one decent run of games in the side (at CB) was fall of last season, which was our best period of form. Pardew didn't give this guy a chance and it's a disgrace.

#nufc have finalised a deal for Callum Roberts until 2019

Not being funny but 5m isn't getting any decent, proven CB. Which is why above all else the Yanga-Mbiwa deal was so pathetic.
Honestly, a stop gap would do. Just anything to ensure Williamson never plays again. A player with a bit of height and strength to complement Dummett and/or Coloccini. Colo's replacement can come in the summer.
The situation is desperate. Anyone average would do as it's better then what we have now.
-
I'd be delighted with this signing and he looks like a great prospect... but couldn't we find a average CB for 4 million if we're going to spend money?
-
Pretty impressive record for an 18 year old midfielder regardless of the league
-
If and that's a huge IF, De Boer is really interested or could tie up, it would be a massive. I can't stretch enough how much I have loved his Ajax side every time we've played them in the past two seasons.
That said, there's lots of rumours that he will be approached by one of the candidates to our presidency.
Wasn't he even mentioned as a candidate last summer before you got Enrique?

It's just to excuse the lack of incoming transfers.
Might as well just say 'we won't appoint anyone until the transfer window shuts'.
I don't understand why this even matters. Anyone we hire is going to be under the 'head coach' role so the manager isn't going to buy players anyway.
It's more a reference to the managerial situation being used as a smokescreen to not sign anyone.
We'll anyone who follows this club knows we shouldn't expect new players anyway. It's a terrible excuse. You'd think this gap in the schedule would be the perfect time to bring someone in and let them get some time with the squad. It's really frustrating.

Good player, but I hope we don't sell Sissoko.

Nice to see us get Roberts loaned out early so hopefully he doesn't stagnate like some of our other prospects

Marco Reus on his way to Real Madrid
NO.. x1000
Can he even get time there? They are already doing their best to ruin Isco

Swansea City have turned down a bid in excess of £3million from Crystal Palace for Neil Taylor. #CPFC #Swansfc

What a derisory offer.
He learned from the best

Does anyone ever go to vastly inferior league and come back and do well? Considering Defoe is 32 and was more then happy to give up any shot at going to the World Cup to chase the money in Toronto. Should show exactly where his head is at.
